Aquí están enterrados Mlan Obrenovic (el hijo mayor de Milos Obrenovic) y la pareja, el rey Alejandro I Obrenovic y su esposa, la reina Draga. En el lugar donde hoy se encuentra la iglesia, en 1830 se leyó el edicto de los sultanes que anunciaba la autonomía serbia dentro de Turquía.
La Casa de la Asamblea Nacional, uno de los edificios más monumentales del antiguo Reino de Yugoslavia, fue construida entre 1907 y 1936. La historia de su construcción, con numerosas interrupciones y modificaciones del proyecto, y con la participación de los arquitectos nacionales más importantes de la primera mitad del siglo XX, representa simbólicamente la historia del serbio, y luego del estado yugoslavo y su vida parlamentaria. Con sus excepcionales cualidades arquitectónicas y artísticas, el palacio destaca en el entorno arquitectónico de la capital. Ya en 1892, el Ministerio de Construcción confió la ejecución de este proyecto al arquitecto Konstantin A. Jovanovic, pero debido a la agitación política y las dificultades financieras, la erección del edificio se pospuso varios años, cuando el arquitecto Jovan Ilkic fue asignado para realizar esta tarea.
El Palacio Viejo, el Palacio Real de la dinastía Obrenović de Serbia, que actualmente alberga la Asamblea de la Ciudad de Belgrado, está situado en la esquina de las calles Kralja Milana y Dragoslava Jovanovića. El Monumento de Agradecimiento a Francia, obra del escultor Ivan Meštrović, fue erigido al final del callejón principal del Parque Kalemegdan en 1930.
La Fortaleza de Belgrado, consiste en la antigua ciudadela y el Parque Kalemegdan en la confluencia de los ríos Sava y Danubio, en un área urbana de la moderna Belgrado, Serbia. Situado en el municipio de Stari Grad, en Belgrado, la fortaleza constituye el núcleo histórico específico de la ciudad.
El monumento ‘Victor’ es sin duda el símbolo más reconocible de Belgrado. Fue creada en los años anteriores a la Primera Guerra Mundial, pero su formación tardó un tiempo inusualmente largo. El monumento en honor a la victoria del ejército serbio en las guerras de los Balcanes fue concebido originalmente como una fuente, que se colocaría en el centro mismo de Belgrado, en Terazije. La tarea fue confiada a uno de los artistas más importantes de principios del siglo XX, el escultor Ivan Mestrovic. Al comienzo de la Primera Guerra Mundial, había fundido la parte central de la fuente en forma de una figura masculina desnuda que sostenía una espada en su mano derecha (un símbolo de guerra) y un halcón en su mano izquierda (un símbolo de paz): el Vencedor.

The guide is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The tour covers many points of interest in central Belgrade that you can revisit to explore in more detail if you have time. Highly recommended.
Aleksander was a great guide. He showed me all the interesting stuff, and noticed immediately what i was interested in. Coffee at the Moskva hotel was the highlight!

What an amazing walking tour of Belgrade. I learned a TON about Serbia and Belgrade specifically!! There was much history and I finished the tour with a much deeper appreciation of both Belgrade and the Serbian people in general. I highly recommend this tour!
I had the most fun and informative 3 hours with my guide Alexsander. We walked all over the city and I learned the historical significance of many buildings and statutes. We even came across procycling teams preparing for a competition and stopped to speak to a few of them. The time flew by very quickly as there was so much to see and learn. And the Turkish coffee was excellent. Belgrade is beautiful and I highly recommend Alexsander as a guide as he made the walking experience so much better with his insights and knowledge.
Aleksandr was excellent in his explanations—clear and full of insight. His love for his city and country was evident as he shared its history along with little-known facts. The tour experience was truly enjoyable, and I found it a pleasure not only to listen but also to share some facts about my own country with him. Despite the grey sky and light rain, the tour was enjoyable, thanks to his enthusiasm, knowledge, and the beauty of the city.
Excellent tour, had time to see all the main sights in a short time. I liked what Alexander said about Belgrade, taking into account the cultural specificities of each guest. Even though we were all from different countries, everyone was able to find a piece of their homeland in Serbia. This suggests that the guide has extensive knowledge beyond the route he created.
I booked a walking tour with Aleksandar last minute on Trip Advisor as I had been a little unorganized and there were not many options with availability left. Let me be clear – I am very pleased with the decision I made. The tour is genuine value for money. Aleksandar as an individual is a fascinating person to talk to. Mixing that with his knowledge of Belgrade and its history made for a genuinely entertaining and informative few hours. I had a particular interest in the recent history of Belgrade, specifically the NATO bombings. Not only has Aleksandar read and studied this part of history, but he was in the city at the time and experienced it as well. Do not hesitate when it comes to booking a tour with Aleksandar – you will not regret it. Additionally, if he recommends eating at one of his brother's 4 Smash Burger restaurants, then don’t ignore him. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Aleksandar. I really appreciated your time and knowledge.
Aleksandar is a nice guy, but the tour was less historical and more political. He offered to take us anywhere we wanted and I said I'd like to stick to the itinerary listed, he did not . Very disappointing, we had to excuse ourselves from the tour.
I had the best time being shown around by Aleksander. The man knows everything and speaks with objectivity and passion about the history and culture of his region. It was pretty humbling to see and made me realise how relatively little I know about the history of my own region because, during my life, we have lived through a period of peace, democracy and progress (this is all relative, of course). I would highly recommend going on this tour. You won’t regret it!
