We travelled to Chiapas in a group of 6 people and the experience was just amazing. From day one everything was perfectly organized and far exceeded our expectations. During the tour we visited spectacular places such as Sumidero Canyon, Chiapa de Corzo, San Cristobal de las Casas, San Juan Chamula, Zinacantán, El Chiflón Waterfalls, Lagunas de Montebello, Palenque and the jungle, among others. Each tour was very well planned, unhurried, but making the most of each day. We want to highlight especially Zea, who was an exceptional operator. He was always very punctual, attentive, careful and professional. He kept an eye on us at all times, made us feel safe and comfortable, and also shared interesting information that greatly enriched each visit. You can tell when someone loves their work and genuinely cares about the well-being of the group. Thanks to its excellent organization and treatment, we spent an unforgettable week in Chiapas, full of stunning landscapes, culture and very special moments. We highly recommend this tour and to Zea. We would travel with them again without a second thought.
First half of the tour was great, with the option of a guide who spoke excellent English, 13 people, great tour of the Palenque ruins. Be warned, very few facilities at the site, only a lady selling drinks and sandwiches. With that number of people, we were surprised to reboard the minivan to find 7 people already on board, making 20, not the advertised 12. No warning had been given and we had left bags for the waterfalls on board, all moved by the new people. The minivan was now hot and squashed! First waterfall was fine, only a 40 minute stop, so no time for lunch, which we were unable to get until Agua Azul, well after 3pm, a long time after an 8am start. No explanation was given at any time of the timings, facilities etc., and the driver was not an English speaker, so we had to rely on fellow passengers to find out the information. Tour lasted over 11 hours, which it would also have been good to know - more information and less people in the bus as advertised, please!
Good tour, pick up was good, on time. Van was alright, we had to pay extra for the guidez but she qas alroght, spoke english, so it was good. Rest of the day was lovely too, went to swim at Misol-ha and Aqua Azul. A good full day experience in the jungle.
Palenque was great, good timing with a guide it was enriching. The waterfalls were beautiful but too crowded. Lots of sales in the streets on Agua Azul 1 hour would be enough.
My tour was tagged on to another tour . Without notice the tour was extended 3 hrs at the waterfall to accommodate the other tour. The bus was very cramped with 2 additional pick up passengers who sat on the floor for 2 + hours! The guide did not speak English . He was not a guide but a driver. Other passengers translated pick up times and locations. Recommend get yourself a taxi and save your time and money.
Good tour at the Maya ruins and Aqua Azul is beautiful, but stayed both places for 3 - 4 hours. This is too much time, and we were just waiting for the driver half of the time. We paid to go see the Misol-Ha as well but never went there because the driver said it was closed? You pay too much for this thinking of what you get.
The trip was great and very interesting. IMHO Palenque ruins is much more value for the money than Yaxchilan & Bonampak so if you are choosing between these two tours, choose Palenque. Our guide, Belen, was fantastic she has very deep knowledge of the Mayan culture and is eager to share it in an engaging and interesting way. Definitely recommend doing a tour with her (both in English and in Spanish). The Misol-ha waterfall is nice but could honestly be skipped. Agua Azul is much more impressive and you can have a nice refreshing swim on the different levels of the waterfall. Very commercial though with people offering you things to buy every step you take. Manuel Barrios waterfalls are almost as impressive and much more natural and native, also better to swim in. The trip is longer than they tell you. It was important for us to know the exact duration of the trip as we had to book a bus in the evening and almost missed the bus because of the missinformation. On the website it says 8h, the tour organizer assured us that it's absolutely not longer than 10h when we called and asked explaining why it's important for us to know the exact time. Only once we met the driver who picked us up did he tell the truth about the duration, which is actually 11,5h...
We were seated in a snakk car. It was too crowded. For this price you would get better service if you just hire a taxi to drive you around to these places.
Belen was a great guide with a lot of knowledge! We had a perfect amount of time each place, and just a really good day!
Very knowledgeable guide for the Mayan ruins. After the ruins I was picked up and added to another tour to Misol-ha and Aqua Azul. I would have wished some guidance in English. An SMS would have been sufficient as I was not clear if I would stay or need to switch. Both sites was great. However aqua AZul was a bid long. Max 2 hours are sufficient. Overall a great experience
