Exciting Experience and driver was experience and understanding. The water falls were beautiful. Spend a little time in the water and chooses to explore the multiple waterfalls and experiences them all. Great adventure and the food at town was great. Gracias Great Experience !!
Beautiful waterfalls in jungle area in ex Zapatista community about 45 minute drive from Palenque. Got there at around 10am thinking it would be quiet but was already quite crowded ( unfortunately with some visitors playing loud reggaeton music!). Got even more crowded later. Probably as it was a Sunday during the dry season ( November to May) Not quite the hidden gem as I'm sure was previously but hopefully ecotourism project now improving welfare of local community while helping protecting the natural area.If you want to support the local inhabitants eat locally at their restaurants in the village rather than bringing your own food. All the local people were very welcoming. The tropical forest surrounding the waterfalls is stunning as are the views of the forest clad mountains when descending on the road towards the village. Come early if want a quieter experience.Im sure the falls are much less crowded during the week and away from the main vacation periods especially Xmas and Easter. You maybe able to stay or camp near to the waterfalls if you want to get there before anybody! The falls must be spectacular during the rainy season but less turquoise blue pools and more chocolate color water after heavy rain. Swimming might be more difficult and risky during rainy periods due to force of water. Wherever or whenever you swim take care especially if alone. Well worth a visit and much less developed and nearer to Palenque than agua azul.
Seeing them again for the fifth time is always fascinating, you need a whole day to fully enjoy them .. fantastic liana to dive and the locals of the pueblo that help you climb the rocks to get there :D
Excellent experience for those who like nature and little comfort, as you are walking to the waterfall and there is not much room to accommodate. Swimming can be entered, but your stuff is left alone on the shore.
Very scenic and I had fun swimming in each of the many pools. As I was leaving, there was a group of 4 howler monkeys very visible (and extremely audible!) in a tree right at the entrance.
Gorgeous waterfalls .great swimming Popular spot for Mexican families to picnic BYO food or buy local I enjoyed the day
I booked this tour 3 days in advance. Two days before the tour, I was contacted and informed that they couldn't find my hotel in the city for pickup. We then realized that my hotel and the city were too far away for the tour, which was understandable to me, so I couldn't participate. However, I never received a refund, and no one responds to my messages. I didn't go on the tour, and I didn't get my money back. This is theft!
We would Highlights recommend the tour, transportation worked great and we really enjoyed the tour!
Beautiful waterfalls. There are five different waterfalls, they are all beautiful and you can swim in the pools. There are also ropes to climb from waterfall three to waterfall two. Less crowded than Agua Azul, only one restaurant and no souvenir shops. Our driver didn’t communicate much, just told us what time to be back.
"tours Chiapas" is the only way to book the excursion :-) they give you personal detail and take care of you and check on you while you are in the waterfalls. It's absolutely beautiful you can just go in and swim and leave them when they say it's warm! Book with this complete you will not be disappointed in your multi-day trip. I was absolutely blown away by the level of detail that they provided in their trips! Just go!!!
