Terrible. Guide never showed up. We were 15 min early no guide. Were told to look for blue jacket. Do you know how popular blue jackets are?. Tried to email but no response.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry you couldn’t find the group. Our guide was at the meeting point as scheduled, wearing a blue vest and holding a “Just Guide” sign. The tour departed with 18 participants, so unfortunately it appears you were unable to locate the group. We appreciate your feedback and will continue improving our meeting instructions to make the guide even easier to spot.
If you're considering a tour of the islands from Aker Brygge, you might want to think twice. The boats leave regularly from the pier, and going solo can enhance your experience significantly. When you venture out on your own, you have the freedom to explore at your own pace. You can spend leisurely hours on the island beaches, enjoy a picnic, or even discover hidden gems without being rushed by a tour guide. The information provided by our guide was quite basic, often limited to mentioning features like a duck pond, a community hall, or a restaurant. This is information you could easily find through a quick online search or by chatting with locals once you arrive. We found ourselves wishing we had known that the guided tour wouldn’t offer anything beyond what we could have learned ourselves. If you value a more personalised and immersive experience, consider ditching the guided option in favour of exploring the islands independently. You'll appreciate the scenery and ambiance far more when you control your itinerary.
The meeting time was changed and when we arrived at the new time we waited 30 minutes, plus walked around looking for the guide who came late!. The guide was uninterested in his role. Told the group about what wasn’t there: once the island had rabbits- no longer; once the island had seaplanes- no longer; once there was a shooting range - no longer. He pointed out a bird sanctuary but we were not close, saw not 1 bird. We were not told about a steep hike up side of mountain and I wore inappropriate sandals. Frankly I’d like my money back as I could have taken a ferry without having to listen to him drone about all the things that once were but no longer.
We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. We understand that the changed meeting time and the wait made the start of the experience disappointing. The tour includes stories about the islands’ history, nature, wildlife, and how the islands were used in the past. We are sorry that the content and presentation were not what you had hoped for. The uphill walk to the viewpoint and lighthouse is optional, and guests may wait, as the group returns along the same route. Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback with us.
Time to enjoy a quick swim so take towel and costume no where to get changed though but a couple were able to enjoy
This was an excellent excursion! Our guides, “M,” Evan and Roy (such a good boy) were very organized, friendly and informative. We appreciated the history of the islands and especially enjoyed the opportunity to sit and enjoy the gorgeous view and have a snack at the end. I would highly recommend this tour!! Make sure to read ALL their instructions on when and where to meet - the time to meet the guide on the pier was forty five minutes before start time. It might be helpful for the tour company to make that information more prominent.
According to the street address provided by the tour operator, this tour meets in a large plaza near the ferry docks in Oslo. The only other instructions were to meet someone in a blue vest. On a sunny Sunday morning, there were lots of people in the area, and other tours meeting to go on the ferry. Despite arriving early, and searching the plaza, we could not find the guide and missed the tour. If you decide to book this tour, insist on more detailed directions on where to meet so you don't have the same experience we did. Sorry to give a tour we missed just one "star" but I have no basis for rating a tour we missed.
I did not go was told I was not on the list of paid guests. I was on list been did not pay. I had ticket and all.
Really nice trip! I would advise to get lunch on the third island instead of the second since there's a lovely full restaurant while on the second it's just a little shop
Absolutely amazing two ladies areanging nice tour! Thank you, wish you all the best in this amazing country ❤️
