La experiencia comienza en coche durante una hora. Luego caminaremos por la cascada de San Ramón ubicada en las empinadas laderas del Volcán Ometepe Maderas, un refrescante baño en la piscina de la cascada es casi obligatorio después de dos horas de caminata. La aventura continúa en el río Istián en kayak por un terreno pantanoso en el lado occidental del istmo entre Maderas y Concepción para ver todo tipo de vida silvestre como aves, tortugas, caimanes, mariposas y monos. Nuestro feliz final termina viendo la luz del sol y las nubes que se hunden pintar el cielo con vibrantes tonos de rosa, naranja y morado desde Punta Jesús María, Playa Mangos o Playa El Perú, los mejores lugares para disfrutar de la belleza de un atardecer, el último beso de despedida para la noche para cerrar este increíble recorrido.

La cascada de San Ramón se encuentra en las empinadas laderas del Volcán Ometepe Maderas, un pedazo de paraíso en la espesa selva donde sus aguas caen por la cara de un acantilado musgoso en una pequeña piscina donde los visitantes pueden bañarse y admirar la caída. Y un refrescante baño en la piscina de la cascada es casi obligatorio después de una caminata moderada.
Pase un buen día navegando en kayak por la costa de la isla Ometepe en el lago Nicaragua hasta llegar a la desembocadura del río Istián. El río y las marismas atraviesan el centro del istmo casi cortando la isla en dos. La zona del río Istián es un terreno pantanoso en el lado occidental del istmo entre Maderas y Concepción. Solo es accesible por agua y es un lugar perfecto para ver todo tipo de vida silvestre ya que es un refugio para varias especies como aves, tortugas, caimanes, mariposas y monos.

Podremos recogerte desde cualquier lugar de Ometepe. Si el tour está reservado solo para un cliente, recogeremos en motocicleta. Si es más de uno, los recogeremos en un vehículo apropiado (coche, furgoneta, tuk-tuk, etc.)

Had a really good time on this private tour. Beautiful waterfall and scenic views while kayaking. We saw so many Caimans! Donald was such a fun and hilarious tour guide. Highly recommend.

What a day! Donald picked me up in the morning and we went straight to the waterfall at San Ramon with the motorcycle. Was a nice hike with some elevation, but very doable and the views are very nice. Donald is a super cool guy and you can ask him or talk about anything with him. He offered to speak Spanish with me when I told him that I’m learning, and I really appreciated that we could practice all day. The kayak tour to Rio Istiam with Enderson was amazing. Saw many different animal species and he really knows the spots to see cayman. We finished by hanging out at Playa Peru and watched the sunset. I would really recommend this tour to anyone interested in nature and who wants to visit some beautiful places on Ometepe with local knowledge. Just one word. WOW. Honestly, if you are looking for any type of tour company in Ometepe I can’t recommend Happy Tours enough. The booking process was super easy via WhatsApp. I booked at 5pm the night before a full day tour the next day and they managed to quickly organise a pick up from my hotel and lunch. I chose the day tour covering the Waterfalls, Ojo de Agua, Kayaking in the river and sunset at Playa Mangos. My incredible guide Donald picked me up on a motorbike and I had the best day. Donald was so knowledgeable and went out of his way to ensure I had an incredible experience. I got to see so many more things I would have on my own and not being confident riding a scooter or quad this was a great alternative. At the end I even received a bespoke edited video of the tour day. Seriously, if I could give these guys 10 stars I would. Well worth the money and wouldn’t hesitate to book. Having done other tours in Ometepe and places in Nicaragua this really does smash the rest out of the park.
