Conservando el estilo decorativo de una mezquita islámica, la construcción del magnífico monumento comenzó en el siglo VIII. Las ampliaciones posteriores aumentaron enormemente su tamaño, convirtiéndola en la segunda mezquita más grande del mundo antes de convertirse en una catedral católica. Aventúrate a descubrir un bosque de columnas y elegantes arcos dobles, y admira el maqsuramihrab (ábside) adornado junto con otros aspectos decorativos destacados. Déjese guiar por un guía oficial para construir una imagen completa de este edificio emblemático. Su tour incluye entradas, audioguía e impuestos. Por favor revise las consideraciones de vestimenta descritas en la política de acceso de la catedral. No se pueden llevar camisetas sin mangas, pantalones cortos o chanclas en interiores.

The mosqu/cathedral is a beautiful complex historic building and without a knowledgeable guide you would fail to appreciate alll of it’s wonders.

If you are in the geographical area of Andalucia, miss this attraction at your absolute peril! A day trip to Cordoba from Sevilla by rail was our choice and it was an unforgettable experience. Our pre-booked time slot with an English guide worked faultlessly - from the pre arranged meeting point where the tickets and headphones were handed out until the last minute with recommendations to continue our tour at the museum with film show (all included). As surely mentioned many times by reviewers, the building interior is simply amazing and the explanation of developments over history by our guide, Christina, was just superb and explained in a first-class manner!

Great building with exciting history. Very nice English speaking guide, who could be listened to well and who knew a lot. It was a pity that the entire tour lasted only 1 hour, although it was given as 1.5 hours. I would have liked to know more ...

If you want to know the detail about the history of this incredible building, this tour is well worth it. The rich history bought the architecture alive and understand how what you see today developed over the centuries. The only issue is that due to regulations you do not have any time afterwards to revisit areas of particular interest for a second look.
