The tour I booked with Morocco Desert Tourism November 3 and 4 from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert to Fes—had serious lack of quality and exceedingly poor accommodations. The hotel , Hotel La Gazelle du Dades, to which Ramadan booked me had bedbugs, cold showers, poor quality food, and a surly staff. Upon arriving at 10 pm after a 8-hour ride in a van, the manager stated that he did not have enough rooms and actually suggested that I stay with another woman in our tour group whom I did not know. When forced to provide a private room for which I had already paid Morocco Desert Tourism, he place me in a room which had bedbugs. When I told him that I had no intention of sleeping in such poor conditions, he produced another room with dirty carpet. On November 4, 2025, Morocco booked me at the Noumidia Luxury Camp in Merzouga for my Sahara Desert tour. While the accommodations looked beautiful, there was no running water in the shower or toilet, and the sheets had blood and cum stains. (I took photos.). When I brought this to the attention of the manager, he became irate and began yelling at me. Frightened by his display of temper, I was forced to sleep on top of the blanket with all my clothes on to stay warm. During these distressing conditions, I contacted Ramadan and requested that he address these issues with his partner facilities, and he stated that I should have taken a private tour instead of the group tour for which I paid him. I told him that as a solo traveler, I travel only in a group. Tourists should not be subjected to uncleanliness and exposed to these unsanitary conditions. Given the circumstances, I request full reimbursement of $300 USD, which covers one at each of these hotels/camps and the frightening experience caused by Morocco Desert Tourism.
Very good trip, everything was well organized and we had a nice driver. We had the luxery camp. Definitely recommended!
