There are cool exhibitions, and I don't regret going, but I think they have stuff to improve. The descriptions/explanations were not written with people in mind who are being introduced to the subject for the first time. It's like they just added text instead of having clear questions set that could be asked about the display. I had this frustration at the restaurant exhibition the most which is a cool idea but I think they should've worked on their research more.
Great museum located near Mount Royal. The exhibitions are interesting and well-documented. The museum can be visited relatively quickly since it is of medium size. To be seen according to the exhibitions.
Great museum and well worth the trip. Thanks. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The museum was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the location near the metro and the museum itself was easy to navigate.
Had fun at the museum enjoying their exhibit on Montreal restaurant history. Them menus were fascinating as were the prices!!!
How powerful. The display about the displacement of indigenous people is really thought provoking. There is also a display about street photography which is also interesting. A small cafe serving nice coffee rounds it off. Lifts to each floor.
LOTS to see and we enjoyed it. The large photo display is excellent. The Native Indian section most informative. Strong recommendation.
Always intriguing, interesting and very well documented, this museum offers fascinating exhibitions. Strongly rooted in Montreal society, Quebec and Canada.
While we were hoping to see its extensive collection of wampum, we did enjoy the current exhibit on the 1st Nations in Quebec and the need for reconciliation. The street photography of Montreal was also interesting.
The McCord Stewart Museum is a hidden gem of a museum in Montreal's many museums. I am a frequent visitor to the museum, and each visit is more memorable than the last. The recent Costume Balls and the Pounding the Pavement photo expositions are exceptional. Each one allows the visitor to quietly absorb and personalize the experience. The exhibitions are perfect foils, each presenting an inside glance into what was and is Montreal and its citizens. Both exhibitions are a must-see!
