Lyon Experiencia de Vino y Queso Francés con un Sommelier

Great food and historical tour. This tour hosted by Charlotte was just the right balance of food and wine and history. Lyon is undeniably the center of French gastronomy. We had multiple stops at local bouchons, chocolatiers, and bistros that gave us a perfect intro into the unique cuisines de’ Lyonaisse. The wines were all “vins de table,” but went beautifully with our foods. We had several stops by Charlotte to explain the local history, architecture and society that helped us to better understand the cuisine and culture of Lyon. The group was small enough to get to know our fellow travelers and lasted just the right amount of time. We didn’t feel like we could go out for dinner later that evening ( yet we did) due to the amount of food on our tour. I would highly recommend this tour if you have never been to Lyon before and want to understand its vibrant and historic culinary scene.

Our wine tasting experience was fantastic. Hugo was an excellent host — knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about wine. We learned so much about the wine regions of France, different vintages, and what makes each wine unique. The wine selection was outstanding, and the meat, cheese, and bread pairings complemented everything perfectly. The venue itself was beautiful and created a wonderful atmosphere for the tasting. Overall, it was a fun, educational, and memorable experience that we would highly recommend.

This was my second experience with Hugo and it was a fantastic wine tasting. We did our tasting blind which was a lot of fun! Hugo knows so much about French wine and the setting was beautiful. Don't hesitate to book for a fun experience in Lyon!

10/10 recommend this wine tasting... he was incredibly knowledgeable and well educated about all things wine! He was so interesting to listen to, and made learning about French wine and everything that goes into wine making, very fun! We tried at least 10 wines from around France, fresh breads, cheeses for pairing, and even a delicious dessert. We would wholeheartedly recommend this experience. It was one of the best things we did in Lyon!! Book this experience, you won't regret it!

We had an incredible afternoon of wine and food at Hugo's charming tasting room in the centre of Lyon. The wine was a fascinating selection from across France, highlighting different appellations, styles and ages. We initially tasted the wines blind, which was enjoyable and thought provoking. The pairings were on point and some of the best food we had in our trip to Lyon. A unique wine experience which we will definitely return too.

Hugo is a great steward of wine tasting, helping those who knew wine well and those like me who just wanted to learn and have fun. A stunning collection of wines that show the variety of the region with all the patience and passion of someone who wants you to take away a great experience. Hugo the the event co-ordinator is very knowledgeable and has books and maps to assist in his explanation of the wines that you taste in his new venue. He pairs the wines with an excellent assortment of Cheese and Charcuterie. The wines that you taste are from all over France and from different decades as well. All in all it was a great experience. The family and I loved the experience.

Hugo provided an exceptional experience in his new tasting room. It was both relaxing and educational as he guided the group through a variety of wines and vintages which were paired with exquisite snacks. You won’t be disappointed!
