Nuestra primera parada será en los montículos de Clava. Los Cairns de Clava son un complejo de cementerios bien conservados del cementerio de la Edad del Bronce; mojones de anillo, mojones de acera y piedras en pie en un entorno precioso. Los Cairns de Clava o los Mojones de entierro prehistóricos de Bulnuaran of Clava son un grupo de tres mojones de la Edad de Bronce ubicados cerca de Inverness. Clava Cairns, un sitio prehistórico enormemente significativo y excepcionalmente bien conservado, es un fantástico ejemplo de la lejana historia de Highland Scotland, que data de hace unos 4.000 años.
Nuestra segunda parada... es una visita al poderoso lugar del levantamiento jacobita final, la última y más desgarradora batalla campal que se libró en suelo británico entre un ejército jacobita y las fuerzas del Gobierno. Explora el centro de visitantes interactivo, observa artefactos fascinantes de ambos lados del enfrentamiento y experimenta la batalla en el cine envolvente inmersivo. El 16 de abril de 1746, el levantamiento jacobita final llegó a un punto crítico brutal. Los partidarios jacobitas, buscando restaurar la monarquía de Estuardo en los tronos británicos, se reunieron para luchar contra las tropas gubernamentales del duque de Cumberland.
Viajaremos a lo largo de la orilla del lago hacia Drumnadrochit desde Inverness, deteniéndonos por supuesto para una foto o dos. Quizás Nessie se unirá a nosotros también :)
Great Glen es la destilería artesanal más nueva de Escocia y, con orgullo, la más pequeña. Aprovechando los elementos de un lugar salvaje, esta ginebra suave y terrosa es su carta de amor a la naturaleza... así que detengámonos y probemos un poco. Best tour ever! Sara, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable providing us with so much information and history at each location as well as on our travels throughout the day. Sarah was very accommodating, making the tour very personal for us. She was fun, interesting and a pleasure to be with for the day. She left us with a lifetime memory.
We had an amazing day with George, the most experienced Scottish tour guide ever! He informed us of so many important and interesting facts about Scotland and its history and the highlands. We were blown away with his candor and ability to be both informative but make it a fun day for everyone! This tour was with my husband and two other couples. I highly recommend (especially if you’re an outlander fan like me).
Amazing tour. We have travelled all over the world and this may have been our favorite tour ever. George is a true Scotsman and knew Outlander inside and out. He took us to Culloden and also to the stones at Crava. We discussed Outlander and Scottish history. In addition we saw Loch Ness (but no monster was seen) and he took us to see and feed beautiful Clydesdale horses. We saw a spectacular Castle and did a tour of the beautiful gardens there. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better guide and it was a fantastic way to spend our day while staying in Inverness.
We had a great experience from this trip, thanks to Alastair who has rich knowledge about the history of these places and, in general, about Scotland and UK. Thank Alastair and George as well for arranging the time effectively with great care.

Excellent tour guide, George, knowledgeable, humorous and very nice. We saw “Craig na Dun” and Culloden including the Fraser Clan stone, the battlefield, monument and the museum. We stopped to see some beautiful horses and toured Cawdor Castle which is beautiful. I recommend this highly! Go Highlander can be booked directly on their website.
Our guide, Sarah, was excellent! Her knowledge of the area was extensive, and she shared information in a way that was both engaging and informative. She was clearly passionate about the history and sights we visited, which made the experience even more enjoyable. My only criticism concerns the ticket pricing. Given the cost of the tour, I was a bit surprised to learn that admission to the castle and the battlefield museum required additional fees. In fairness, I may have overlooked the details when booking, but I had assumed the tour was all-inclusive except for lunch. It would be helpful if those extra costs were highlighted more prominently during the booking process so guests know exactly what to expect. Overall, Sarah did an outstanding job, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
Dress for every kind of weather as it can change quickly. There are lots of opportunities to learn about Highland culture which we really appreciated.Our guide George was a fantastic with so much valuable knowledge. He really made sure we had a great experience.
