This tour is packed with cultural immersion. You’ll spend time in different towns across Lake Atitlan learning about different customs, chocolate, honey, and textiles. Eli was an absolute treasure as our guide. Highly recommend!
The boat was the worst part of the experience. Its a speed boat with no view, seating is cramped and if you are pregnant, elderly or have back or joint issues, the ride will aggravate your problem. Its unfortunate that on a beautiful lake one could not enjoy the view and the boat ride instead felt like torture every time the boat bumped. The tours of the villages are driven towards products being sold and one really doesn't get to explore the town. There is so much potential for this to be a wonderful activity but it needs a better boat and less marketing of products.
It was an action packed day with beautiful views from the lake and interesting activities in the towns we visited. Our host/guide was very friendly and well organized.
Eli was such a wonderful guide taking us to three different towns around the lake. She’s full of fascinating info that made the day go by so fast.
The tour was great and covered a lot of ground. Was fun to see the different communities and boat across the lake. An absolute must do if you are visiting Panajachel!

I can’t rate this activity, but rating the customer service. I had a severe allergy reaction to something I ate the day before (lips swole huge, as well as TMI symptoms, and had to take medication) and messaged day before to ask if I (1 person) could move to next day, as it was showing availability on Viator, and provider refused to even consider reschedule. I offered picture and proof of seeing pharmacy dr, but said would not consider.
Good tour with great people and guide, Juan explained everything and was so atentive for all of us, charismatic and he knows very well all the towns.
The tour is beautiful, but they do it very quickly and it is very commercial.
We had an amazing time with our girls. Maria, our Mayan tour guide, was so accommodating and knowledgeable. My husband has a physical limitation walking and she was so kind to make sure he was okay and to get us tuktuks at the different stops. Our favorite part was the boat ride from town to town…lol please have motion sickness meds on hand if you’re not used to a high speed, choppy ride.
