En medio del casco antiguo, el templo de Bach Ma es uno de los templos más antiguos y sagrados de la ciudad, que se fundó originalmente en el siglo IX. La traducción de Bach Ma es White Horse y esto se refiere a una historia detrás de la construcción del Templo. El rey Ly Thai To había estado luchando por construir el templo mientras sus muros seguían derrumbándose. Se dice que un caballo blanco delineó la mejor zona para construir el templo con sus cascos para ayudar al rey en la construcción del templo. Entrando al templo a través de unas antiguas puertas de madera tras las cuales podrá ver el interior bellamente decorado y un palanquín funerario lacado en rojo. Dentro del templo, encontrará una estatua del caballo blanco, un santuario a Confucio y un Altar del Fénix para las ofrendas a las cuatro estaciones. El templo de Bach Ma todavía es utilizado activamente por los fieles que vienen aquí para quemar incienso y orar.
Siendo una arquitectura única eterna con altibajos de la capital de Hanoi, el Puente Long Bien se ha convertido en uno de los símbolos de la ciudad. El puente no es solo una construcción de tráfico, sino también una reliquia histórica viviente. En guerra francesa y estadounidense, Long Bien Bridge ha sido testigo de muchos momentos históricos. Long Bien Bridge fue construido entre 1989 y 1902 durante la ocupación francesa del país. No mucha gente sabe que, con una longitud de más de 2 km, el puente Long Bien solía ser el segundo puente más largo del mundo, justo después del puente de Brooklyn de Estados Unidos. Curiosamente, Long Bien Bridge es el único puente en Hanoi que permite a los turistas dar un paseo por la vía del tren, probar algunos postres o comprar verduras o pescado fresco de los vendedores en el puente. El mercado Dong Xuan fue fundado en 1889 por los franceses y lleva el nombre de su ubicación. Kien was an excellent guide! His personal knowledge of Vietnam history and culture mixed well with his time living in USA and Ireland. English was excellent so he understood question right off. We started tour with a beautiful view of the city from a rooftop lounge, then inside for cold iced coffee and history lesson (sitting in the air conditioning!). We walked to a few interesting places including a tiny alley to see how some live in Hanoi. Kien described culture of "shop roads" and "fake paper" -- things that you wouldn't know just by walking the old Quarter. Highest rating for this walking tour and Kien as our guide!!

We had such an interesting and enjoyable tour with Angelina. It was our first day in Hanoi and it gave us a great starting point for understanding the city and history. The tour was a combination of information, history, conversation and trying some local food along the way. Angelina was a wonderful guide, very open, knowledgeable and fun! Dung was a great guide. Her English was excellent, and she was very friendly and open. I felt I had the opportunity to learn more about how people reallly live, as well as some history/orientation. My only disappointment was that the sites and markets were closed for the 6pm tour, which was NOT clarified for me. Had I known, I probably would have done a different tour. Still, I enjoyed the chat and opportunity to see the city at night with a local. Plus, Dung bought me a treat of delish donuts! I bet the earlier tours are super.

Nice guide that gave us an ok guide of Vietnam and Hanoi. Recommend tours where they have a microphone, as the guide spoke a little low and there is a lot of noise in the streets of Hanoi.
