La catedral de Echmiadzin (traducción literal : El descenso del Unigénito) es el centro de la iglesia apostólica armenia construida originalmente a principios del siglo III a. La iglesia de St. Hripsime está dedicada a una de las 40 vírgenes que escaparon del imperio romano. El monasterio de Khor Virap se encuentra aproximadamente a una hora en coche de la capital, Ereván, y ofrece una vista increíble del símbolo que define a Armenia: el majestuoso Ararat. "Khor Virap" se traduce como "mazmorra profunda", y fue construido en el lugar de la antigua prisión real, ubicada en el sitio histórico de Artashat. Fue en esta misma prisión en la que mantuvieron a Gregory el Iluminador, el primer católico armenio, durante 13 años.
Visitará la iglesia de San Hripsime, que fue construida sobre el sepulcro de una monja cristiana Hripsime que huyó del Imperio Romano y fue asesinada en Armenia. Este increíble edificio se ha mantenido en pie desde el día de su construcción desde el 618 d.C., lo que la convierte en una de las iglesias más antiguas del mundo.
Cinco minutos en coche será nuestro próximo lugar: la iglesia del siglo VII de St. Gayane. Gayane era la niñera de Hripsime y compartió el trágico destino de Hripsime.
Podrá observar la primera catedral cristiana del mundo, la Santa Ejmiatsin, construida en 301-304. Según la leyenda, Jesucristo descendió en el mismo lugar donde hoy se encuentra el Altar de la Disidencia, donde Gregorio el Iluminador ordenó construir la iglesia. La catedral es un símbolo de la identidad nacional y patrimonio armenio, que refleja la arraigada tradición cristiana del país.
La catedral de Zvartnots, ahora en ruinas, es una catedral armenia de tipo tetraconcha de pasillo central del siglo VII construida por la orden de Catholicos Nerses el Constructor desde 643-652. Según la leyenda, el nombre "Zvartnots" significa "ángeles celestiales", inspirado en la creencia de que los ángeles una vez velaron por el templo. Está incluida en la lista del patrimonio de la UNESCO. De hecho, todas las iglesias incluidas en el tour están incluidas en el Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad de la UNESCO.

We made a private tour by: - Khor Virap Monastery – Echmiadzin Cathedral – St.Hripsime - St.Gayane Church – Zvartnots Temple Driver Harut went beyond expectations. In addition to being polite and attentive, he strived to count aspects of each stop, using Google Translator On Line, reducing language impact. This tour was great! The tour guides of this company makes the visits interesting, engaging and enjoyable. Although there was a constant language switching by the tour guide from Russian to English and vice versa, which interrupted the immersion, still it was a very nice and valuable tour. I recommend them, especially if you book a tour in the Russian language, the experience will be much more unique. As a note to the operator, they should consider offering the same tours in Russian and in English as separate groups, this would keep the experience consistent in the preferred language. Other than that, everything was great

Were on an individual field trip with guide Karen today. We really enjoyed it. The guide spoke very well about the history of Yerevan, about all the temples we visited, learned very much new and unknown about the formation of Christianity. I highly recommend it. On my final day I had this half day trip booked for after I checked out and had my bags. It was a private tour so I had the car to myself. The driver came to my apartment at 10am to pickup as arranged. It was an older guy who didnt speak much English but tried to help as best as could. We went first to Khor Virap then back to the churches around the city Echmiadzin, Hripsime, Gayane, and Zvarnots temple. I was dropped back at Republic Squre where I had requested. It was very convenient to have my own driver after two large bus tours on previous days and reasonably priced.
