Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, kind and communicative ahead of time. We didnt luck out with seeing bears though. The salmon were on the lighter side and it was a warmer than usual day for that area. They also hadnt seen rain for over a week and likely the bears were hiding in the shade. Although disappointing, you cant make nature happen if it doesnt want to. I wish we had more time on the island to visit the Creek. Was worth it though and maybe next time!
Alan was fantastic and he went out of his way to make sure we saw everything. He kept trying, and I guess we got lucky. We saw a black bear with a salmon, so many bald eagles and a nest, and deer up close. Our advice: do the salmon ladder earlier. We did a 6:30 am walk around Ketchikan and saw plenty of salmon, plus a seal chasing them, so there was no need to stop at the salmon ladder later because it got VERY busy.
Mason helped us book our trip!! He was fantastic and assured us it was for people of all ages!!! Got to see a whale, bear , seal, bald eagle, dear, seals. Got to take pictures and see waterfalls and the outdoors. Our guide Al was fantastic and very knowledgeable. He even took group pictures for everyone and let us try berries!! This was the most animals we had seen our whole trip and was a great way to end our trip. We loved this whole experience
Fun time Got to see a bear Saw at least 10 eagles
Awesome, we're so glad you all had fun! Thanks for touring with us!
Our Guide was great and we experienced some beautiful spots while seeing a bear and many eagles.
I'm thrilled you were able to have such a great experience! Bear season is in full swing, and it's been such a blast for us too!
there can be no experience if the company is a no show. I waited at the Rock as agreed and arrived 1 hour prior to 8.30 pick up and stayed 1 hour past 8.30. no show. no contact.
We’re sorry we were unable to connect with you. Our guide was at the designated “Rock” pickup location at 8:30 a.m. on July 17 and successfully met the other guests booked on this departure. When we could not locate you, I personally attempted to call the phone number provided with your reservation. Unfortunately, we received no response and had to depart on time for the guests who were present. We regret the confusion and understand how disappointing the situation was.
Wear sturdy shoes. Alan was a great tour guide and well informed of local spot to see wildlife. Saw plenty of eagles. Didn’t see any bears but we were there on an unusually warm day.
We thought we were just doing a hike, but no we did a tour of some amazing places in the city along with a cool hike in the rainforest! We saw a black bear and our tour guide fed some eagles. Also our cruise had an early shuttle from downtown and our tour guide brought us to our boat. 10/10 recommend!
It's such a fun time, and we really enjoy hearing from guests who made the most of the experience! And the cruise ship drop off is a nice bonus!
John was the most incredible guide I have experienced. Not only local, but a person who knows and loves the land. Never will I ever hear someone say, "I need to go to the gas station and pick up some herring"! His knowledge of ehere to find the ripe salmon berries (and bears), the coast to watch the humpback bubble feed, and then feeding the eagles herring was an experience I will cherish all my life.
Sounds like you guys had the perfect tour! We strive to show everyone this level of awesomeness! Hope to see you again next time!
This was an awesome trip. The tour guide was funny and very informative. I thought it was going to be more walking but mainly just toured in a vehicle. The guide noticed something in the water by the road, we got out and a humpback was bubble feeding right by the shore, that alone made the whole trip for us!!
It's so awesome being in the smaller vehicles because we can truly change on the fly when we see wild animals being WILD!
