Easy 15 minute drive, quickly assigned ATVs and we were off. Once we got the hang of it, we all had an awesome time. We were covered in dust and dirt, which was part of the fun. Bring sunglasses or something to cover your eyes.
This was advertised as an Excursion riding ATVs to various sites on the island of St Kitts. We were supposed to visit Brimstone Hill Fortress and the old sugar estate. At the end of the tour we were supposed to have some beach time in Friars Bay. If you enjoy writing ATVs on dirt roads you would love this excursion. However, if you want to see some of the sites of St Kitts, like we had planned, you'll be very disappointed. The tour was supposed to start at 11:30 a.m.. We did not leave the port until 12:30. We rode the ATVs up to the Fortress, immediately turned around and headed back. There was only one stop to see the volcano and take a few pictures of the mountains and ocean. Almost the entire Excursion was riding the ATVs. Our tour guide, whose name I did not hear, clearly loved the sport. On the way back he was riding very fast and only my husband, who is an experienced rider could keep up with him. The rest in our group kept falling behind and they had to stop multiple times for us to catch up. Due to the late pickup and time spent only riding the ATVs we did not have time to spend at Friars Bay at the beach before returning to our ship. We completely missed out on that part of the Excursion. Another reviewer praised their tour guide for all the stops, historical information and photo ops. Unfortunately we did not have that same experience.
We had a fabulous time on this tour, the ATV ride was fun and matched my level of experience. We had such a great variety of views across our adventure and our guide provided great entertainment. We were able to adjust the time we had on the beach to a longer stay that aligned with our cruise departure. We were back at the ship with plenty of time before departure.
The tour was great and matched our limited ATV experience. We stopped a few times for photos and to see old ruins which we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. We had a ton of fun throughout.
I was skeptical of this tour, just uncertain based on some reviews; however, we are glad we did this adventure, it was an experience. After getting off the boat there were lots of tours being offered, we had already purchase tickets for this adventure. It was difficult to locate the guide at first as there was not a sign, but several of the other tour guides there pointed us in the direction and said they would be there shortly. After a few minutes, the tour organizer showed up with a small green and white sign reading "Jungle Bikes". From the port, it was about a 25 minute bus ride to the location where the ATVs were, but once there, we were on the dune buggies and we were off! While there was about 25 people total, they divided up the group and our group was about 4 or 5 vehicles (all tours went same route, was just to make it easier on guide to keep track of us tourists). We rode through the former sugar cane fields and some of the rainforest, and I would recommend taking glasses/goggles and face coverings or accepting the face coverings they offer, it gets really dusty and we were blanketed in dirt. However, it was a great time, our guide was great, very attentive to the group and sticking together. We did encounter some issues with one of the dune buggies keep stopping, but the guide would assist each time and after the second occurrence, called in for a replacement to be brought out, which was there within about 5 minutes. Overall, definitely a cool experience, would definitely do again!
We booked online in advance and met the guy by the casino. We waited for at least half an hour since they were trying to get more people by selling it at the port.We enjoyed it but it took 30 minutes by a slow taxi type ride to get to the ATV after we drove around twice before we left the port. Was not much air conditioning in the van. The driver gave a tour as pointed out a few places. Our ATV tour guide was very knowledgeable about different tree leaves used for medicinal purposes which was quite interesting. We stopped a few times and he told us about them otherwise we saw a volcano and small black sand beach. Trails were muddy since it had rained. Made for good puddles to run through. The machine I was driving had issues with the gears. Was either in too high and would stall out on hills or too low and lagged back. Drove for 2 hours and filled in time by going over some trails a couple times near the base. The bathroom was usable but no sink so bring sanitizer before you leave. No other bathroom stops. Out ride back to the port was a quick trip 20 minutes max. Had a good time not sure if I would go again.
I planned this tour as part of my SO's birthday trip and it was one of the best parts of his vacation. He had the best time and we would absolutely do this again.
A fun and exciting excursion. Denroy and Quan were Awesome! They matched our tour to our ability, and we got to ride at an advanced level and we had a blast. We got to see cool sights in the distance along the trail, including Mt Liamuiga, Brimstone fortress, and a black sand beach. Highly recommend, you won't regret it.
Riding the trails, the scenery, our guide was so much fun to talk to. Everything about this tour was the best. Looking forward to take our next vacation on this island. Thank you for a great time.
Terrific experience for our family of 5. Almost 2 hrs of riding ATVs with a great variety of terrain. The beach was very nice as well. We were picked up and dropped off on time from our cruise. The only suggestion would be is to provide cold water( they had water for us but it was warm) as it was very hot. Highly recommend
