We rebooked this tour and wound up with a large group of high school students from Quebec that didn't want to be there. It was hard to hear the tour guide and there was friction between tour guide and high school coordinator. The tour guide spoke very broken English as she was from Ukraine. We wished we were in the next group at 4:00 because they only had 5 people in that group.
The story of the Jeannie Johnston and the stories of her crew and passengers were a highlight of our trip to Dublin. We found it more meaningful than Epic.
Incredible story about the history of this boat & the great famine and why people emigrated. Fantastic guide who narrated stories about crew & passengers bringing it to life on board the replica ship. Learnt a lot & really enjoyed this
This was our family’s highlight of our trip to Dublin. Our tour guide Gearoid was wonderful- engaging, funny, knowledgeable. My two boys (ages 9 and 11) were insistent that I leave a review for Gearoid with 100 stars. :) He answered all their questions and made the tour very fun.
The guide was so so good. She outperform the storytelling part. We were thoroughly involved and learnt about each part of the painful Irish famine story.
We’ve literally just been on this tour with our guide, Katrina. She told the story of this ship so well and with such passion that it made our visit a real pleasure.
Very interesting and engaging tour, we really enjoyed this experience!
Our trip on the Jeanie Johnston on the 30th of June 2026 was memorable and highly entertaining due to our guide Kathryn (I hope I got her name right). She is very articulate and good in story telling. She involved almost every person in the group and was extremely patient with all our questions. I hope she gets a promotion, because she deserves to be promoted. Best guide we had in a long time. She also stayed on after the tour talking to me and my friend and gave us some nice tips and even more information about the ship. We loved this tour!
I took a number of guided tours during my 2-week stay in Ireland, and this one was my favorite. Katrina the tour guide was engaging, knowledgeable. I loved seeing the scale model boat, really brought the story to life. Very reasonably priced, highly recommend.
Caitríona was engaging and knowledgeable. Our group size was about 25 which was very comfortable. Bigger groups could still enjoy, though. The tour takes about an hour and you will walk the length of a working replica famine ship -- one of two in existence. A core memory for you Ireland trip. Well worth the ticket price!
