Este hermoso y relajante parque público, que alguna vez formó parte del Palacio de Topkapi, es más que un área recreativa. Esta zona jugó un papel crucial en la historia de Estambul, pero también de la República Turca. En abril se llena de tulipanes. En mayo, las rosas reemplazan a los tulipanes. Cada temporada, luce increíble a su manera.
La primera fuente de su tipo, la Fuente del Sultán Ahmed, frente al Palacio de Topkapi, es un monumento elegante en sí mismo. Rodeada por el Palacio de Topkapi y Santa Sofía, esta fuente rara vez recibe la atención que merece. Examinaremos sus ornamentos del Período de los Tulipanes con especial atención y comprenderemos su impacto en la ciudad.
La cisterna de Yerebatan (Basílica) es una estructura de agua romana del siglo VI y la más grande de su tipo en Estambul. Con interminables filas de columnas, tiene una apariencia única. Se considera como una vista superior en Estambul. Puede haber un tiempo de espera de 30 minutos en días ocupados.
Esta obra maestra de la arquitectura otomana del siglo XVII es uno de los principales lugares de interés de Estambul. Su interior ofrece uno de los ejemplos más glamorosos de las mezquitas otomanas. Está decorado con miles de azulejos y un extenso calado. Desde su patio exterior hasta las esquinas interiores, esta mezquita ofrece varios ejemplos elegantes del gusto artístico turco del siglo XVII.
La plaza de Sultanahmet es el antiguo hipódromo romano y contiene algunos de los lugares de interés más antiguos e importantes de Estambul. El Obelisco Egipcio, la Columna de la Serpiente, el Obelisco Masonario y la Fuente Alemana se encuentran entre esos lugares de interés. La Mezquita de Hagia Sophia en Estambul es una de las obras maestras de la arquitectura mundial y Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Este edificio del siglo VI contiene elementos artísticos y elementos arquitectónicos de las civilizaciones romana, bizantina y otomana. Es una visita obligada en Estambul, pero por esa razón hay largas colas que pueden resultar en 1-2 horas de tiempo de espera. (Si mis invitados prefieren ver el edificio solo desde afuera para no esperar en una larga cola, se puede agregar un destino alternativo)
Como ciudad clave de la Ruta de la Seda y la Ruta de las Especias, Estambul cuenta con la presencia de algunos de los mejores bazares medievales del mundo. El Gran Bazar y el Bazar Egipcio (Especias) siguen siendo algunos de los edificios comerciales más animados de Estambul. Dependiendo de la preferencia personal de mis invitados, podemos visitar uno o ambos. El Gran Bazar está cerrado los domingos.
Aunque la Mezquita Azul es la mezquita otomana más visitada de Estambul debido a su ubicación en el corazón de la Ciudad Vieja, vale la pena visitar otras mezquitas por su importancia histórica y sus aspectos arquitectónicos. La Mezquita Beyazit en particular contiene características muy interesantes que son únicas en Estambul. Nos fijaremos en su colorida decoración fechada en 1505.

Istanbul is an incredible city on its own, but exploring it with Unsal made the experience unforgettable. From the moment our tour began, he brought every site to life with his deep knowledge, engaging stories, and genuine passion for the city’s history and culture. He guided us through iconic landmarks including the Blue Mosque, Ayasofya, the Grand Bazaar, and even the atmospheric underground Basilica Cistern—famous for its appearance in the James Bond film From Russia with Love. At each stop, Unsal shared detailed insights that helped us appreciate not just what we were seeing, but the centuries of history behind it. What made the day even more special were the thoughtful touches he added along the way. He led us to a beautiful courtyard café for a relaxing break, and later to a traditional restaurant where we enjoyed an authentic Turkish lunch—places we never would have found on our own. Unsal was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. His storytelling made the city’s past feel vivid and alive, and his enthusiasm was infectious. If you’re visiting Istanbul and want a guide who truly elevates the experience, I can’t recommend Unsal highly enough.
Our tour of Topkapi Palace was unforgettable, entirely thanks to our incredibly knowledgeable and humorous guide. He brought the Ottoman Empire to life with fascinating details on art, architecture, and court life that we would have otherwise missed. We loved how personalized the tour was; he tailored it to our interests, walked at our pace, and enhanced the storytelling with historical documents and photos. His care extended well beyond the tour itself, he gave us an authentic local restaurant recommendation and even helped us navigate the area afterward to shop. Unsal gave us the opportunity to tailor the tour entirely around Topkapi Palace, allowing us to spend all our time going as deep as possible into the parts that interested us most. We had an excellent day with Unsal. He met us at our hotel. We visited the “essentials” and more. He gave lots of information (he’ll tailor depending how much you want to hear); told us history and made loads of recommendations for the rest of our stay. We ate meatballs (Turkish favourite) and later, baclava in an artisan tea house. We have had a day to remember, highly recommend this tour. 🙏🏻
We had the most memorable tour with Unsal. He has expansive knowledge of Turkish history and culture. We learned a lot of interesting facts . He provided us with detailed explanations of everything we saw. Unsal was extremely accommodating. He met us at the hotel and we started the tour right away. He has a wonderful gentle personality and made us very comfortable throughout our long hours together. He is a great storyteller and very good photographer also. He sent us all good pictures that he took. We spent wonderful day with Unsal. His tour was excellent!!! We are very grateful and have the best memories of our time together!

Unsal was a really exceptional guide. Very professional and extremely informative. Would highly recommend. We toured these spots: Hagia Sophia, Basicalla Cistern, Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, and Grand Bazaar Lot of walking history around the highlighted areas above. Unsal was also very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and things to do outside of the tour.
We did the tour including blue mosque, hagia sophia, sultans tomb, hippodrome and basilica cisterns. The tour is extraordinary interesting for inter-cultural experience from the ancient to the modern istanbul. The perfectly well prepared schedule suits for beginners. For the ones with background knowledge or deeper interest in specific topics the tour could be personally adjusted on request.
