Hagia Sophia, con su arquitectura innovadora, rica historia, significado religioso y características extraordinarias, ha estado luchando contra el tiempo durante siglos. Construida tres veces en el mismo lugar, es la catedral más antigua y más rápida del mundo. Con sus impresionantes cúpulas que parecen flotar en el aire, las columnas monolíticas de mármol y los mosaicos incomparables son una de las maravillas de la historia arquitectónica del mundo. La belleza pura y deslumbrante de la mezquita con su magnífico juego de espacio, luz y color provoca adoración en el creyente. *Recordar que como ya no es un museo, los guías turísticos no tienen prioridad para saltarse las colas. Hay cientos de cisternas antiguas escondidas debajo de las calles y casas de Estambul. De las dos que están abiertas al público, la Cisterna Basílica (Yerebatan Sarnıcı) es la atracción turística más grande e inusual de Estambul. Construido en 532 por el emperador Justiniano, se construyó con 336 columnas, muchas de las cuales fueron rescatadas de templos en ruinas y cuentan con capiteles finamente tallados. -Su guía se reunirá con usted en su hotel ubicado en el centro de la ciudad del lado europeo (Sultanahmet, Sirkeci, Karaköy, Galata, Taksim) o Galataport. Si su hotel no se encuentra en la zona mencionada anteriormente, el punto de encuentro está frente al Hamam de Cagaloglu. -Su guía lo recogerá a pie en los hoteles del centro de la ciudad y lo ayudará a organizar la búsqueda de un taxi o transporte público hasta el casco antiguo.

As someone interested in history a city like Istanbul has a lot to offer. Cihan our guide does a tremendous job in not just understanding what his audience wants but at the same time help us outside of his work hours. Cihan was our scriptwriter on our visit to this fabled city. He blended in the elements of history of the city so well into our tour and I don't think I missed out on any hole in the wall restaurants nor did I miss out on the big touristy spots. If you're in Istanbul I highly recommend Cihan and his private tour.
