Isla Grande en un Día : Cascadas de los Volcanes Turismo e Historia

On day of booking the weather was sketchy at best. After just a few stops we started to encounter rain and heavy cloud cover. Then there were threats of the tropical depression becoming a hurricane which it did but the tour company still didn’t want to cancel for fear of losing a dollar. As the day progressed more places we were scheduled to visit had poor weather with bad visibility and then they started to shut down spots we were scheduled to visit. The last scheduled spot the driver was sure it was closed but his boss insisted we go there anyway which was a waste of time. The driver did his best but we never should have done the tour that day especially since we had some aged customers who could have fallen and got hurt.

We absolutely loved our Big Island in a Day tour! A huge shoutout to our guide, Kawika D., who was truly fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and just made the entire day so much more enjoyable. What really stood out to me were the stories he shared about growing up on the island. He was able to weave his personal experiences and memories into the tour, which gave us a much deeper connection to the places we visited. You could tell he genuinely loves the island and enjoys sharing it with people. Our tour did get started a little late because the first airport pickup was delayed, but Wasabi did a great job communicating with us and keeping everyone updated, so it wasn't an issue. Lunch was good, although nothing particularly memorable. I also felt the tour was a little pricey, but considering everything the Kona area and the island have been through with weather and Mother Nature, I was more than okay with it. Overall, this was absolutely worth the money! We got to see and experience so much of the Big Island in one day, and having Kawika as our guide made it even more special. His knowledge, humor, personality, and stories really made the experience memorable. I would definitely recommend this tour — and if you get Kawika as your guide, you're in for an especially great day! 🌺🌴🤙

The day passed very quickly. The stops were well spaced out. The volcano was probably my favorite. Even though we couldn't see much due to the mist. The lava tube this was a favorite part. The drive was very enjoyable. It was so awesome to see how different the island is depending on the region you are in. Tour guide was very knowledgeable, provided. Great information and answered all our questions.

Be prepared for a long day, but it's totally worth it! You get to see a great snapshot of the island. Kawika, our tour guide, was fantastic and shared a huge amount of history and fun facts throughout the day. The stops were well placed and the volcano is a must see. If you have the chance, definitely take this tour!

It’s a long day, but a ton of fun! Be prepared to learn a lot about the island between stops—the guides share tons of interesting details and context along the way. The stops themselves were super cool, with one important caveat: we weren’t expecting the weather to play such a big factor. As with anything involving Mother Nature, the things you’re told you’ll see may not always have great visibility, and you should be prepared for the possibility of intense rain. Everyone in our group wished we’d brought more layers. They do provide raincoats, which aren't great quality so arrive prepared. That said, we loved the experience. We spotted sea turtles at the black sand beach, the lava caves were really cool to explore, and the waterfalls were gorgeous. Just come prepared for changing and challenging weather, and you’ll have a great time!

This was a ln excellent all day tour of The big island. We loved our guide Kawika.

This was a full day, but a great tour with a great guide Chris! We got to see a LOT during the tour and Chris had great narration in between stops. I would highly recommended this tour!

It is a tour full of interesting sights all day long. Stefan was an excellent guide, and the tour was very comfortable with his thoughtful attention and sense of distance at key points.

Our tour guide, Brett, was amazing! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire day so enjoyable. The ukulele playing during lunch was such a wonderful touch, and the lunch itself was delicious. The tour was truly the best way to see the island in one day. We had an incredible experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Big Island!
