Awesome experience. Organizers were ready at the meet up point directing us where to park and wait. Instructions were given and everything went smoothly. Glad it was a big boat as we were less likely to get seasick! Captain Aiden was great, friendly and very organized. Kala’e and Kaden were helpful as well. We saw the manta numerous times. Wow what an absolute must do if you are in Hawaii on the Big Island. Our captain (Ula) and guide ( Young Mana) made the trip enjoyable and funny. Both had great personalities that made the trip fun and safe for all. My family of 4 (older teenage daughters) has an absolutely great time. We boarded for the 9pm trip which caused a little anxiety due to it being so dark (no moonlight) for the entire 20 min ride out. At no time did it feel unsafe, but just the darkness made the unknown thrilling. I was concerned when we first pulled in to the spot as there were several other boats there and it seemed crowded. You could actually see the Manta Rays from the boat swimming around the other people in the water and our boats energy raised with excitement. Once we got in and set up, the magnificent sea creatures showed up and showed out for us. Mana was there the entire time making sure everyone was comfortable and feeling safe. At one point the Manta Rays disappeared for a minute or so and Mana went and "stole them back" for our viewing. (Haha. His words) He really did a nice job making sure the Rays stayed w us the entire time we were in the water. We also saw a shark that stayed low in the water and didnt bother anyone. The rays come very close and actually touched 3 of my family members as they swam by. The time in the water seemed to be the right amount as it seemed most were ready to get back on board the boat and head home as it began to get a little chilly in the water. This was one of the most magical experience we have ever had. If ilI could give more than 5 stars, I would. Worth every cent!

THIS IS A MUST DO!!! I learned that this is the only place IN THE WORLD that you can do this and wow it did not disappoint. The manta rays are HUGE and very friendly. You cannot touch them, but oh boy do they get close! My only negative comment would be that I got cold about half way through the experience. They do provide a short sleeve wet suit top to help! Completely worth the shivering!! We did have our own GoPro, but you can rent one for $40 which you must do to capture all the incredible footage.

Absolutely amazing experience! Snorkeling with the manta rays was magical and truly unforgettable. Seeing these beautiful creatures glide right beneath us was breathtaking. Definitely one of the highlights of our Hawaii trip and a must-do on the Big Island!

Definitely not cheap, but well worth it for the memories. It can get quite pricey, especially for a family, but this is a fantastic opportunity to experience Hawaii. The tour typically lasts about 2-3 hours. The crew was super friendly, interactive, and professional. The boat ride out to the location was great, and the snorkeling itself was a lot of fun, with plenty of manta rays and other sea life to watch.

If you're considering a manta ray night snorkel on the Big Island, I cannot recommend Hang Loose Boat Tours enough. From booking to the end of the excursion, the entire experience was incredibly organized, with excellent communication every step of the way. The staff was exceptional- from the friendly check-in team to the captain and crew on the boat. Everyone was welcoming, knowledgeable, and focused on making sure guests felt comfortable and safe both on and off the boat. The boat itself was comfortable, and the provided gear, including quality snorkels, wetsuits, snacks, and water, made the experience even more enjoyable. One recommendation I would make is to rent the GoPro. It was worth it and allowed us to relive an experience that is nearly impossible to capture with words alone. The manta ray snorkel was truly magical. We were fortunate enough to see more than ten manta rays gracefully swimming beneath us, and it was one of the most incredible wildlife encounters we've ever experienced. It was peaceful, awe-inspiring, and something we'll never forget. Hang Loose Boat Tours exceeded our expectations in every way. Their professionalism, attention to safety, outstanding crew, and unforgettable experience made this one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii. We can't wait to return to the Big Island and book another tour with them.

Aidan, Caden, and Tim were fantastic! We saw so many manta rays. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip and I would love to do it again.
