Our Island in a Day experience was absolutely amazing. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a long day, but you won’t be disappointed by the stops and the knowledge of the driver makes it an amazing experience. Our driver, Felix, had so much information about plants, animals, volcanoes, locations, history, and culture. There’s no way we wouldn’t gained as much knowledge about the Big Island without having gone on this tour.
Chris was an amazing guide. We learned so much, he was interesting to listen to and was a good storyteller. This tour is a great way to see the entire island. So glad we booked. The tour van was spacious and new. A very comfortable ride. I am GF and the meal provided was GF (ordered ahead of time) and tasty. Nice I could eat with my non-GF family a similar local meal. Note I am not celiac.
It was an extremely early pick up but wow what a day . Our guide and driver Henry was excellent and so knowledgeable. He really is passionate for the island he lives . He told us some great facts about the island and all the way around he was pointing out and telling us different things which made the trip even more interesting. The food was great, you are well fed and hydrated around the trip and you got a couple of nice treats too . The places you stop are fantastic from the waterfalls to the black sandy beaches where the turtles sunbathe, to the volcano and rainforest . It is a long day but definitely well worth it in both money value and the experience of what you see. A must of you want to truly experience Hawaii and what it has to offer other than a nice white sandy beach or a hotel swimming pool
Excellent experience! Our tour guide - Chris - was wonderful! Full of great stories. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
We would highly recommend this tour you get to see so much of the island . Our guide was excellent and made the tour so enjoyable he is an asset to Wasabi Tours. We would recommend this tour and specifically the guide we had
Brett our driver was friendly and informative. Got to see a bunch of great scenery on the tour. Too bad we didn't get to see the volcano eruption
I booked a tour with wasabi the tour was 11 hrs, but called to see if I can do tour for 8hrs and get back by 4pm since we had to catch a flight. The agent said he found a tour for us for only the requested 8hr tour 8am to 4pm. We went ahead and booked it after confirming the time with him multiple times. On the day of the tour we talked to the driver once again to confirm it was 8-4 since he booking did say 11hr. At the time of booking I didn think anything of it since we already confirmed with the agent. The driver said there was no way to get us back by 4 and had to leave us since he had no solutions. Not his fault seamed like a nice guy. After calling the agency back we tried to get a refund since we could not go or even start the tour that we paid $300 per person for. They refused to refund our money. If they were to have said up front that they was not able to accommodate we would have never booked it. No only did it mess up our plans it also lost us time. This is just bad business on their end and we’re very disappointed with them.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're truly sorry for the frustration and inconvenience this situation caused, especially on the day of your departure. From what you've described, it appears you were provided incorrect information by a Tripadvisor representative regarding the duration of our tour. This tour is an 11-hour experience, and this is clearly stated on our Tripadvisor listing, booking confirmation, and tour details. Unfortunately, the information provided by the Tripadvisor representative is outside of our control. We completely understand why this was disappointing. Had we been made aware of your 4:00 PM return requirement before the booking was completed, we would have advised that this tour could not accommodate your schedule and recommended an alternative instead. We sincerely regret that the incorrect information provided during the booking process led to this outcome. While we strive to provide accurate information on our listings and confirmations, we unfortunately cannot control the advice given by third-party booking representatives.
Our tour guide Brett was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and had lots of fun, engaging information regarding the Big Island. Unfortunately we had some..less than polite people in the van, but he handled it well. I felt really bad for him though, they were very unpleasant at times, but he always had a smile on his face and continued on with his great attitude. There was plenty of time to take all the pictures and videos we wanted at every stop and it was not rushed, which was nice. Also, lunch was AMAZING! I'm so happy they had a vegan/vegetarian option, it was very delicious! Brett also played us music on the guitar as we ate, which was nice. I tried to tell him the last song he played was great, but one of the other guests talked over me and disregarded his lovely music. So I'll just put my compliment here- Brett, your rendition of Hotel California was wonderful! I seriously recommend this trip to anyone visiting. It takes all of the hassle out of it, as you don't have to worry about finding a parking spot, paying for parking, paying for all the park admissions, paying for lunch, paying for a ton of gas, driving for hours etc etc. As a solo traveler, since the van was full, I got to sit in the front seat, which was such a delight! This was a terrific way to experience all the most beautiful parts of the Big Island.

Fantastic tour. Ian was our driver and Kavika our guide. Was a fun trip which took us all around the island. The highlights being the active volcano, lava tube and beautiful waterfalls. Full day trip of fun and adventure. Comfortable and spacious vehicle. Would def recommend
