The tour, guide was Joe he is excellent with the right balance of talking and background history. He also connected us all to his Wi-Fi hotspot allowing him to send us updates and timings. As there is a lot to fit in this was most important as we were here from a cruise ship just for 1 day. First stop was Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, situated on a peninsular into the sea. This is a spectacular setting for a temple, and the crowds are testimony of its popularism’s, it does have some steep inclines and plenty of steps, but well worth the effort. UN Memorial Cemetery in Korea,Next on the stops was the UN Memorial Cemetery in Korea, after a short introduction including a film into the history of the War. We had free time to explore the cemetery, like most other war cemeteries around the world the care and attention to the fallen is truly moving and is a must when you are in Busan. After a period to get lunch (thanks Joe for the insight into Korean Chicken (please trust him when he says its for 2 people) Next and final stop is Gamcheon Culture Village, it is a very nice full of colourful houses, with some interesting artwork made famous by Instagram. Most of the shops are souvenir based instead of arts and crafts but it worth a visit. Overall, one of the best tours we have done, Oh and they do get you back to the ship (just in time…)
