Very knowledgeable and informative casual walking tour with lots of unexpected and interesting stops.
Alejandro was a wonderful guide. He is very knowledgable and personable. Was a great was to learn about the history of Mexico City and a joy of an experience. Highly recommend!
This tour is an excellent first experience if you've never been to Mexico or Mexico City, but would also be very helpful for repeat travelers. It provided a lot of historical context for other iconic experiences (e.g. Chapultepec Castle) in Mexico City - I don't think I would've been able to fully appreciate these places without first having Alejandro's tour. He started from the basics and then gave us a very comprehensive history of the Mexico and the historical center in Mexico City, since much of Mexican history is connected to this one area of Mexico City. The group is just you and the guide, Alejandro, so you are truly getting a 1:1 tour from a local, a refreshing change from tours typical of tourist-heavy areas. Alejandro was extremely knowledgeable about the historical center, but also Mexican history in general. He was very accommodating of our needs (e.g. water, bathroom breaks, etc.) and his English was excellent. Alejandro also gave us some food suggestions tailored to the neighborhood we were staying in. The tour was absolutely worth the cost, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
Alejandro was an outstanding guide. His passion and breadth of knowledge really brought Mexico City alive for us! His chronological telling of the city’s history really helped us understand the richness of Mexico City throughout the ages. He was able to answer all of our historical questions as well as those about the architecture, culture and current events in Mexico. We highly recommend Alejandro as a tour guide!
Thank you so much, Renee! Very nice to have you, come back soon!
Alejandro was an excellent guide and explained the history of the Mexico City area in an interesting way. I realized that I had to look up to fully appreciate many of the historical buildings. My only disappointment was that I expected to visit the National Palace to see the marvelous mural of Mexican history by Diego Rivera, but learned that it is closed to the public. I suggest that you take that off of the itinerary for this tour
Thank you, Sara! I am happy to know you enjoyed the tour and you are right! I will correct the tour itinerary.
What a fabulous walking tour. Our host was so knowledgeable. He was kind and patient with any and all questions. We saw things that we would never have seen without him.
I am so happy to confirm you had a good time! Thank you for attending and hope to see you back soon!
Alejandro is extremely knowledgeable about his home town. He took us on chronologically ordered tour of important sites through the life of Mexico City. His explanations were very clear and coherent. I recommend him highly.
Thank you so much for joining! It was my pleasure to show you around, hope to see you back soon.
We were a small group of 3 (one US couple and I). Alejandro showed and explained the history of Mexiko City from 1325. He also provided water and tacos to us.
Hope you had a good time, Andreas!
Alejandro and his team were excellent. We were visiting Mexico City for the first time with our adult children for a week. He planned an itinerary for us and executed flawlessly. He also had great recommendations for restaurants.
I've had the pleasure of joining Ale on several tours, and without a doubt, they stand out as the most remarkable experiences of getting to know Mexico! Having lived and traveled in Europe and South America, I can confidently say that I've never encountered someone as passionate and captivating in explaining the details of their city's history and culture. After each tour, I find myself in awe.. as I always discover new information and details, which (as a typical tourist) I tend to overlook. Ale's talent is truly exceptional – he has a remarkable ability to immerse you in the past, describing the days of Tenochtitlán for instance.. It's an experience that makes you feel as though you've been transported back in time, seeing everything as if you were there yourself. Thank youuu Ale - you are the best tour guide :))
