Embárquese en un tour de avistamiento de ballenas y vida silvestre en grupos pequeños de 3 horas desde Hoonah, Alaska en nuestros buques personalizados con cabinas y baños calefactados. Cada temporada, las ballenas jorobadas vienen en gran número a Hoonah para alimentarse de las aguas ricas en nutrientes de Glacier Bay y Icy Strait antes de migrar al sur de nuevo para el invierno. La población de ballenas comienza a llegar a Hoonah en mayo, y se queda hasta septiembre.

POR FAVOR, LLEGUE 15 MINUTOS ANTES DE LA SALIDA PROGRAMADA, POR CORTESÍA CON OTROS SALIMOS A TIEMPO. Si su barco está atracado en el muelle de desembarco del océano, diríjase a tierra hasta el Centro de Aventuras del Estrecho de Hielo. Una vez dentro del Centro de Aventura camine por el edificio y salga por la puerta número"2". Una vez afuera, siga las señales a lo largo del camino de grava hasta el Centro de Excursiones. El tiempo total de caminata desde el barco es de 10 minutos, por favor conceda tiempo extra si no es un caminante rápido. Le pedimos que se registre 15 minutos antes y nos vamos a tiempo. Si su barco está atracado en el muelle Wilderness, camine por el muelle y a la derecha. Monta en la Góndola Green Transporter (4 minutos de viaje) hasta el Desembarco de Aventura. Salga de la góndola y vaya a la izquierda, siga las indicaciones hacia el centro de excursiones. Si no se toma la góndola hay un sendero que se puede caminar - es un paseo de 1/2 milla. Al salir del bosque, comienza a buscar el letrero que dice Excursion Hub a tu izquierda. Siga el camino de grava hasta el centro de excursiones. Por favor, consulte con el representante de Hoonah Travel Adventure cuando llegue al Hub! Si llega a través de hidroaviones AK o AK Marine Highway, llámenos antes de su viaje para hacer otros arreglos.

Excellent and friendly tour guides and captain. We saw several whales and other animals. Very cold and damp out on the water, so come dressed appropriately!!
Watching humpback whales surface just yards away left us completely speechless. Add in soaring bald eagles, a seal, pelicans gliding by, and even sea otter sightings (too quick for the camera), and it felt like nature was showing off. Our guide was extremely informative and great with kids.
This excursion was a fantastic experience. While it is on the pricier side, that is to be expected given the location, and it is well worth the cost for the quality of the tour. Our guide was excellent, the group size was perfectly managed, and we saw an incredible number of whales throughout the trip. Highly recommended!
A word of caution if booking this tour. What they neglect to tell you is that the price does not include a return to the excursion center. You are left in town where there is absolutely nothing. You stand in line in the rain for extended times while a couple local shuttles try to return 2 cruise ships of people 38 at a time. Save your money it’s not worth the price.
My wife and I traveled with our friends and booked the whale watching trip. The pick up was easy, the captain and her 1st mate were really friendly and engaging and worked hard to make sure we saw whales. We were fortunate to see both humpback and orcas.
This was a great excursion-small group, very informative, comfortable boat and best of all-whales! A few bears on the shore, sea lions, a sea otter-and whales! Captain Denise and Annaliese, the naturalist on board, made sure to give interesting background, stories and legends of all the places we went to. Everybody involved in getting us where we needed to be was super-friendly and the older fellow that drove us from the excursion center to the dock had good stories to share as well. Besides this excursion we highly recommend the Fisherman's Daughter in Hoonah for milkshakes! If we had time we would have stayed on their patio for a local beer but we'll do that next time. If your weather is nice, like it was for us, definitely walk back to the excursion center along the water, because it's just so beautiful.
Wonderful tour. The operator was reliable, the boat was beautiful, spotless, and comfortable, with plenty of outdoor access and enough space for everyone despite being a medium-sized group. A knowledgeable young lady on board provided interesting explanations about the city, wildlife, orcas, and humpback whales. We were lucky to encounter a group of several orcas, as well as numerous whales. The highlight was seeing a humpback whale breach completely out of the water very close to our boat, an absolutely extraordinary experience! We highly recommend this tour and would gladly do it again.
We had an amazing whale-watching tour with Hoonah Travel Adventures! Captain Denise Gray was professional, warm, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating information about Hoonah’s history and culture, along with many interesting facts about the local wildlife. Her passion for the area made the experience both exciting and educational. We highly recommend Captain Denise and Hoonah Travel Adventures to anyone visiting Hoonah!
This was one of the most amazing travel experiences you could hope for. Captain Denise was amazing, full of stories and lore of the area, and we were so lucky to see orcas that followed our boat and a humpback whale that breached multiple times right in front of us. Then, a bald eagle was soaring overhead and then dove and caught a fish right next to our boat. Naturalist Annalise was the perfect fit for this tour, and was as excited as we were to see these amazing creatures.
Viator description says water provided. It is not. Bring your own. Boat holds 30 guests, and our group was 30. Saw humpback whales, orcas and otters. Hard to get good photos, because so many crowded to front deck
