Despite it being a cloudy August day with little visibility at the top of the mountain. I had a very enjoyable hike with guide Simon and the rest of the people in the group. Simon was very well organized, had lots of spare equipment and was very knowledgeable about the route and rapidly changing weather conditions. The return trip took 6 hrs and 20 minutes and it was worth the 7am start. I'm happy to recommend this trip to other solo hikers who are looking for a group to join.
Absolutely fantastic day with our guide Simon, who was friendly, and very knowledgable. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to tick Snowden off their summit list.
What an absolutely amazing experience! Walked the LLanberis path and started at 6am to avoid the crowds, so glad we did as coming back down at 9am it was sooo busy! We had cloud and fog all the way up starting at 20 degrees and the summit was 4 degrees, freezing and windy! Cafe didn't open until 10 so didnt hang around. Summit stone was empty which was lovely as there isn't much room up there! Then in what felt like a split second the cloud and fog cleared and there were the views, they were stunning and made it all worth it (soke sections were painful)! Hiked up in 2hrs 20 but with a slower walk down and stopping to take photos it was 6hrs total. Would highly recommend! Big bucket list tick!
We recently climbed Snowdon as a group of seven, including our nine-year-old daughter, and booking MountainXperience was one of the best decisions we made. We specifically wanted someone who could give our daughter that extra bit of motivation and encouragement to make it to the summit — and we were incredibly lucky to have Simon leading us. Simon was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. He was knowledgeable, insightful, funny, and incredibly encouraging. He knew exactly when to give us a little push and, just as importantly, when to slow things down. Whenever someone in the group was lagging behind, he made sure we stayed together, and the teamwork throughout the day was brilliant. On the way back down, Simon took us along some different, more off-the-beaten-track paths, which was a fantastic way to experience the mountain and made the whole adventure even more memorable. Seven and a half hours later, we had made it to the top and back down — tired, very happy, and with a whole lot of great memories. What started as seven people climbing together turned into a day of meeting new friends, bonding, laughing, and sharing what genuinely felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A huge thank you to Simon. You were absolutely fantastic, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. We would wholeheartedly recommend MountainXperience to anyone looking to climb Snowdon, especially families with children.
Thank you so much for this wonderful review Ivan! It was an absolute pleasure spending the day with you all, and your daughter did incredibly well - reaching the summit of Yr Wyddfa at nine years old is a fantastic achievement! You were such a supportive and good-humoured group, and it was lovely to see everyone encouraging one another throughout the day. I’m delighted you enjoyed the quieter route back down too. Thank you for choosing MountainXperience and for trusting me to guide such a special family adventure. Hopefully we’ll see you again for another one! Simon
Fantastic experience!! Would definitely book again for the money rigorous route. Simon was an excellent guide/host, very knowledgeable and friendly to everyone. Thanks again!!
Thanks for the lovely 5* review Maxine! It was great to spend the day on Snowdon with you and the rest of the group. Hope to see you out and about again soon. PS Love the hat! Simon.
As a novice solo traveller, the meeting instructions were clear, Simon the guide made sure we had everything needed before we set off. The weather was dire!! But didnt dampen my spirits. I totally embraced the challenge along with the expertise and knowledge of our guide. Absolutely excillerating and amazing. Despite the horrible weather I would absolutely do this again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended 👌
Thanks for the lovely review Bev. It was great to meet you despite the weather! Thanks again for your help with the group. All the very best. Simon.
We couldn't have asked for a better guide than Tom for our hike up Snowdon via the Llanberis Path. He was knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about the mountain, sharing great insight along the way while keeping the pace comfortable for the whole group. What really stood out was how well he looked after us — and our search and rescue dogs — checking in regularly, adjusting for the dogs' needs, and making sure everyone (two- and four-legged) made it up and down safely. Highly recommend Tom to anyone tackling Snowdon, especially if you're bringing four-legged companions along!
Thank you so much for your fantastic review, Jago. We're delighted to hear that you had such a great day on Snowdon with Tom. He's incredibly passionate about the mountain and loves sharing his knowledge, so it's wonderful to hear that came across during your walk. We're especially pleased that your dogs enjoyed the adventure too! It's not every day we get to guide such capable four-legged companions, and we're glad Tom was able to make sure everyone. both human and canine, had a safe and enjoyable experience. Simon
Excellent day - Dave was great fun and knowledgeable- made the climb doable in bite size chunks and nice to take a slightly different descent path. Highly recommend
Thank you so much for your lovely review Louise! We're delighted you had such a great day on Snowdon with Dave. He has a real talent for making the climb feel achievable by breaking it into manageable sections, while keeping everyone entertained with his knowledge and sense of humour along the way. We're glad you enjoyed descending via a different route too - it's a great way to experience even more of Eryri's spectacular scenery.
Weekend in North Wales and decided to give climbing Mount Snowdon a go. Not being experienced hikers we opted for booking a guide with MountainXperience... The whole day was thoroughly enjoyable. Hiked with a group of 8, who were all lovely, which added to the 'feel good factor' of the day... Andy, our guide, was brilliant. Knowledgeable, friendly and warm - and generous with his bag of jellies! (Wriggly Worms I believe) A heartwarming day, would definitely recommend. 5 stars!
Thank you so much for your fantastic review, Keith! We're delighted you decided to spend part of your weekend in North Wales with us. Booking a guided walk is a great way to experience Snowdon, especially if it's your first time on the mountain, and we're so pleased you had such an enjoyable day. It's lovely to hear that the group got on so well too. Sharing the experience with like-minded people often becomes one of the highlights of the day. We'll be sure to pass your kind comments on to Andy. He's a brilliant guide, and we're pleased his knowledge, encouragement and, of course, his famous bag of Wriggly Worms helped keep everyone's spirits up! Simon
I did the Llanberis Path yesterday with a small group of people organised by MountainXperience, and I loved it. What I appreciated the most and what made the experience enjoyable was the guide, Andy. From the start I felt I was in good hands and I felt safe which is something that matters to me a lot given that I have a bit of fear of heights. There were two bits on the Path where I would have struggled on my own but with Andy's support and encouragement I was able to tackle those bits. The fact that he's fun and wonderful to talk to was a bonus! I highly recommend MountainXperience to everyone.
hank you so much for your lovely review. We're absolutely delighted that you enjoyed your day on Snowdon with Andy. Helping people discover what they're capable of is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, so it's wonderful to hear that you felt safe, supported and encouraged throughout the walk. Many people arrive feeling a little apprehensive, especially if they have a fear of heights, and we're so pleased Andy was able to help you overcome those challenging sections with patience and reassurance. Reaching the summit having pushed past those worries is a fantastic achievement. We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to Andy – he'll be delighted to know he made such a positive difference to your experience (although we're not surprised to hear you enjoyed chatting with him too!). Simon.
