Brilliant experience from start to finish - logistics are very smooth and the experience (both journey and destination) is breathtaking. Highly recommend as a top Colombia experience and Expotur were clearly the best in the business. Our translator Pilar and guide Ecuario made the trip even better with their humour, knowledge and endless enthusiasm to keep going. We were in very capable hands and felt safe but not over-managed at any time. Make sure to bring a good amount of cash to buy refreshments at the (welcome) rest breaks and also basic sanitary items / meds ! (Eg hand sanitiser).
We went on expo tours. Everything was very well arranged: smooth communication, a good guide, nice sleeping places and the food was also good! Very reliable!
An amazing experience albeit tougher than I thought it would be. Nothing really to change - It's good being a bit primitive as it keeps it as a special experience for those few who are willing to do it. Our guides Jose, Mai and chef Jesus were great.
It was a wonderful experience; the entire Expotour team (Josè, May, Jesus, and Shirley) was excellent. They took care of every aspect, and there were no issues at all!
I had a great tour! Carlos and Antonio did a very good job. I had the tour recommended to me by a friend and would recommend it 100%!
My girlfriend and I had an awesome experience with Expotur and most specifically with our three guides Iderle, Aldair, and Luis. This trek although less miles than ones we’d done previously was extremely challenging but with every minute as I was able to push my boundaries and got comfortable being uncomfortable. Our guides were extremely accommodating especially with my partner struggling on parts as she was previously injured and got sick during the hike and were always able to find a solution to help whether it was helping carry her bag, hailing a mule, or getting a motor transport when she needed it. They were extremely informative on giving us a good sense of the history of the sierra nevadas and indigenous culture. My girlfriend couldn’t have finished the hike without Iderle’s encouragement. As an lower intermediate Spanish speaker I had an really appreciated hearing our guide’s Spanish lectures and having a great translator in Aldair to fill in the gaps.
I think it is a very challenging fysical hike. The guides where amazing, the whole time attended to every need! The accomodation is very basic (as expected) so it is a little bit survival but the waterfalls & breath taking views make it al up!
A truly impressive and worthwhile activity. Even though it was physically very challenging at times (steep roads; heat and many meters in altitude), it is worth it. The guides (Nelson and Justin) were excellent companions for getting an insight into the history of the region, the indigenous population, and the Ciudad Perdida. Highly recommended!
Challening, rewarding, fantastic guides, great food, amazing swims in the river, 10/10 experience
We had a wonderful time on this today hike. Spectacular natural beauty and wonderful company along the way. Diego guided us to the Lost City, Alberto was our Translator along the way, and Freddy provided tasty food for us - all three were relaxed, friendly, professional and reliable. We would thoroughly recommend the hike to anyone considering it. 5stars!
