Ellen was awesome! Got the inside view of Helsinki food and culture. So cool to have a local take us to places even native Finns haven’t been to. The food market was a huge hit! Will be going back for more soon!

We arrived in Helsinki by cruise ship. We were not advised by trip adviser how far the meeting place was. Turns out it was over a 1 hr. Walk. We took a Uber both ways which added $40.00 to our excursion. We were not at all happy about that. We are asking TripAdvisor to reimburse us for that. Our guide was really good but food and tour itself was just ok.

When we told our friends we were doing a food tour in Helsinki everyone asked what we could possibly be eating besides fish. Well, fish is certainly on the menu, but we were very pleased to try many different dishes and I think get a good sense of Finish food (and drink). The area the tour is in is very walkable and not a large distance. We enjoyed our guide sharing her personal stories. I would have liked a bit more history in my tour, but that is just a personal preference. The guide did share some good information about where we were talking and what we were trying.

Fantastic walking food tour with very knowledgeable tour guide Ellen. Lovely lady who took us to some great hidden jewels - loved the salmon soup, rhubarb pie with lemon and ginger ice cream in particular.

We really enjoyed our time with Ellen today. There was a great variety of cultural foods as well as historical context. It was also nice to sit and chat with Ellen to learn about her life in Finland. The walk was not bad - a little uphill but well paced.
