See Talinn During your Time in Helsinki

This was a great way to see Talinn during a trip to Helsinki. My morning hotel pickup was perfectly on time and we proceeded to the ferry pickup after one more hotel stop. Our driver escorted us to the terminal to ensure we had no issues with our tickets, which was appreciated. The ferry was an experience in itself. It was not crowded at all, so we could explore all the areas and there was ample seating. Upon arrival in Talinn, our guide was waiting with a sign and we set out for our tour of the Old Town. This included a brief drive, to a convenient drop off point. We walked through the Upper and Lower portions of Old Town, and I learned a lot. After the tour was done, we had about 3 hours to wander around, grab food and do some shopping if we wanted to. The meet up spot was easy to find and the van to take us back to the ferry was prompt. The ferry ride home and pick up for hotel transfer was easy. It’s a very long day, but was a great experience. There were a lot of moving pieces for this tour, but it was very well managed.

Best day trip from Helsinki! Highly recommended.

Everything on time and efficient from booking to hotel pick up and drop off. Our Tallinn guide Irene was wonderful. Our driver to and from ferry helped with boarding tickets too! We are happy we did this as our Scandinavia tour did not include Tallinn, which is a must when you are so close.

Relaxing way to visit another country!

We had a great day on this trip as all the stress was taken out of our hands due to the organisation done by the travel company. We were informed the day before about our ferry time/pick-up etc. and they arrived promptly to pick us up from our hotel. The driver dropped us at the ferry terminal with instructions on how to ‘check-in’. The ferry was great - we immediately found comfortable seating and enjoyed the crossing. Our guide from Tallinn was waiting for us as we walked off the ferry and she then took us to a waiting car to be driven to the first point of our walking tour. She was lovely, with excellent spoken English and was with us for a few hours giving us a guided tour. We then had a couple of hours on our own to wander through the streets and have lunch before meeting our driver who took us back to the ferry terminal. As we arrived back in Helsinki, a driver was waiting for us as we disembarked to return us to our hotel. Obviously if we had booked it all independently and used taxis, it would have been more cost effective, however it would definitely have been more stressful and possibly not so enjoyable.

Must-do tour of Tallinn

Everything about this tour experience was amazing. From when we were collected from our hotel to when we were dropped off at the conclusion, the entire experience was seamless and extremely well organised. Our tour guide Irene who met us in Tallinn and led us on this incredible tour was beyond fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable and the route we followed was an informative overview of this beautiful historic town. We can’t recommend this tour enough.

Non-native tour guide

Pick-up and drop-off in Helsinki were very smooth, on-time, and well organized. Our main disappointment, however, was that our guided tour in Tallinn was not conducted by a native Estonian, rather someone who had immigrated to Estonia some time ago. We felt that having an Estonian guide share their firsthand knowledge, history, and experience of their home country, culture, customs, and commentary would have added an important layer of authenticity and credibility to the experience, that was otherwise missing.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that the pick-up and drop-off in Helsinki were smooth and well organized. We are sorry to hear that the guided tour in Tallinn did not fully meet your expectations. Our guides are English-speaking local guides with good knowledge of Estonia, its history, culture, and traditions. While our guides may not necessarily be native Estonians, they are selected for their knowledge and experience in presenting Estonia to our guests. We understand, however, that you would have preferred a native Estonian guide and appreciate you sharing your perspective. Your feedback is valuable to us as we continue to improve our guests’ experience. Thank you once again for travelling with us and for your honest feedback.
