We had an amazing time! I cannot encapsulate the passion that Mango exudes. She was always ready with interesting knowledge and funny anecdotes. My partner and I loved her warmth, attention to detail, and encouragement. My partner is more skilled in cooking than I am, however, Mango was agile and able adjust. I had some dietary preferences that Mango was considerate of from our trip through the market all the way to the desert course. This is honestly one of the highlights of our three week journey through Vietnam. When we come back to Vietnam, we will make sure to return for another lesson!
We had a great experience going to the market and then cooking a lunch up with Mango. She is incredibly knowledgeable about her craft and also very welcoming This was without a doubt one of our best culinary experiences in all of Vietnam!
This cooking class was the highlight of our holiday in Vietnam. It was better than we expected. If you are looking for a great Vietnamese cooking class pick this one. Our teacher was Jocelyn who was so delightful. She spoke English very well, was informative, fun and really friendly. The food was delicious and the garden was really interesting and a calm oasis. The cooking space is modern, very clean and was a cool vibe. We cooked more dishes than we expected and even given a surprise delicious dessert and toasted our class end with apricot infused rice wine. The class was very hands on and perfect for my husband and I, and our sons (18 & 23 years). Such great value and so fun!
After meeting Thuong near the market we shopped like locals before heading to the kitchen and sourcing herbs from the garden. Learning the ratios of sauces, techniques, and how to make spring rolls, beef noodle salad, Pho Ga (chicken pho) was sensational. Can’t wait to make them all when we get back home to Aust. Cannot recommend this cooking school more highly.
We had the best time with our chef ,food was amazing
We had a fabulous time. Guide was wonderful and explained so many things in the market. Then headed to her home kitchen where she was extremely happy patient and gave great instructions. We made spring rolls, beef noodle salad and chicken pho. Our productive class produced an amazing lunch. Thank you so much for one of our highlights of our stay in HaNoi. If you go to HaNoi, definitely try and do this tour.
The best time learning about Vietnamese culture, spices, and food! Mango was a great host and gave excellent assistance along the way to get everyone involved! Accommodating to vegetarians too!
Our visit started with the tour of the vegetable and herb garden. Here we learned all about the spices we would be using during the cooking classes as well as fruits and vegetables that are grown on the family compound. The cooking class was very well presented by a great instructor who spoke excellent English with an excellent command of English cooking terminology. We made spring rolls by hand and fried them in oil and enjoyed it at the table, along with beef rolls and assorted herbs, spices, and fruit for dessert. The class takes place in a lovely garden, which is a joy to visit as it’s in a very quiet oasis like setting. No doubt, you will enjoy this experience.
We had a wonderful afternoon at this cooking school. We started with a tour of the garden and a sampling of all the herbs that were growing. We sampled and assortment very aromatic herbs, some of which were described as having medicinal properties. Next, we moved on to the outdoor kitchen where we had excellent instruction on how to make various dishes and sauces. We made spring rolls with all the vegetables and rice paper. Our instructor spoke very good English and gave step-by-step instructions. We had our own stations to chopped vegetables and to make up the spring rolls. We then cook them in a large wok in hot sunflower oil. We then sat down to eat the spring rolls along with the sauce that we made and a very tasty salad. The kitchen prepared some beef rolls for us which we rolled in two vegetable stuffed rice paper. The school is located in A oasis like setting of peaceful gardens owned by a single-family who run the school This was an excellent experience which I can wholeheartedly recommend.
An amazing food tour experience. Our tour guide John shared his experiences and knowledge about herbs and food. A great tour
