Staff very nice and helpful both on the ship (especially Jenny) and our guide (Felix), excellent food (congratulations to the chef) but as for the cruise we were not satisfied. We expected to sail through the various islands of the archipelago and instead we were stuck in a gulf surrounded by a myriad of ships. The excursion to Cat Ba Island was supposed to be a cave, we imagined interesting site from a geological/naturalistic point of view and instead it turned out to be a bunker and it was very quick and disappointing. Nice hour spent kayaking.
This tour was amazing. Fun filled and packed with adventure. Our tour guide Tiger was the best. All accomadations were comfortable and clean and the food provided was never ending. Kayaking, hiking and even a bike tour. You won't be dissapointed in booking with this company.
Overall not a bad experience! The tour was not cheap but it felt like we were constantly being asked for more money. The trip description is ambiguous and sounds as though hotel transfer is included however this is an extra 200 VND per person. Additionally one girl had apparently booked without the village tour and was asked for more money onboard. All drinks on board including water are at your own expense, even no drink included with lunch. Additionally it felt that we were an inconvenience to the guide as we speak English, he spoke all the information over the microphone in Vietnamese and then afterwards gathered the 3 English speakers in a corner to tell us the information. Additionally the ‘beach’ for swimming was more a patch of sand and had lots of rubbish floating around. The scenery was very pretty and the price was reasonable! Food at lunch was plentiful and delicious.
