El templo Garni, que se eleva sobre un cabo triangular, es el ejemplo único sobrevivido de la cultura pagana en Armenia. Es una mezcla de estilos grecorromano y armenio. El primer rey Trdat ordenó construir el templo en el siglo I d.C. y lo dedicó al Dios del Sol. Después de adoptar el cristianismo en 301, el templo pagano perdió su significado y la fortaleza de Garni se convirtió en la residencia de verano de los reyes. Hoy en día las ruinas del palacio real y el baño con una impresionante obra de mosaico se pueden encontrar cerca del templo. El huésped tendrá la oportunidad de participar en el procedimiento de horneado Lavash en las inmediaciones.
En el cañón de Garni se pueden explorar impresionantes monumentos geológicos, representados por basaltos columnares, que son el resultado de flujos de lava. Las masas de basalto se rompen en columnas poliédricas, que, debido a su regularidad de forma, han ganado el nombre de "Órgano Basáltico".
El monasterio de Geghard es la obra maestra insuperable de la arquitectura armenia del siglo XIII. Algunas de las iglesias del complejo están magistralmente excavadas en una enorme roca. Desde el primer momento el complejo se llamó Ayrivank (monasterio cueva), más tarde pasó a llamarse Geghard (lanza) ya que la lanza, utilizada por el soldado romano para picar el lado de Jesucristo, se había mantenido en este monasterio durante muchos siglos. Debido a su construcción, Geghardavank sirve el mejor lugar para cantar canciones espirituales. El complejo es rico en sutiles adornos escultóricos y muchos khachkars llamativos (piedras cruzadas). El sitio está incluido en la Lista del Patrimonio Cultural Mundial de la UNESCO.

Had this tour with Mariam and Khachik. Mariam is one of the best English and Russian speaking tour guides, and Khachik is one of the best drivers. This tour was very informative and the guide was knowledgeable in history and culture. Mariam is definitely a wise and experienced tour guide. Incredible view of cave monastery. Ani’s voice is amazing as she sang a traditional Armenian hymns in the upper cave chapel. This was an amazing tour, very memorable as it was one of the most cultural. Haig the driver was amazing Ava got us every where on time.
