las huacas de moche o llamadas Temlos sol y luna son pirámides truncas de alrededor de 2000 años de antigüedad , donde deslumbra por sus interiores policromados destacando la imagen del dios principal en alto relieve y ademas de impresionar la imponente fachada externa de 27 metros de alto por un promedio de 100 metros de ancho al 100% policromado y en buen estado de conservación. The tour of Salaverry, Peru and the nearby ruins was very interesting. The Mathe people, who predated the Incas, had built large forts close to the ocean. We were told that the ruins were buried in dirt and sand for centuries until discovered in the 20th Century. Since then, they have been carefully dug out and revealed. There are large courtyards for ceremonies and meetings with the king. There were also sacrifices of defeated enemies, soldiers and young children to try to get the gods to improve the weather and zero rain, caused by El Ninio. The structures include colorful paintings in the moon temple, and intricate figures in the walls of the fort. The woman tour guide was good while outside – reasonably understandable despite her Spanish accent. But I and another customer complained about the PA system on the bus. It was very difficult to understand her, saying that she needed to either turn down the volume on the system, or move the mic a certain distance from her mouth. She promised to address the problem, but then completely forgot about her promise.
DONT GO! Bus no good-AC not working. Driver did not know how to operate it and terrible driver. Overcrowded. Had to sit in a child's seat all day. Driver h ad Super Mario song on phone going off constantly with texts all day. Very annoying and would not silence it when asked. So bad we bailed and took a taxi back to the ship!
Hello, thank you for sharing your dissatisfaction. We understand, but the bus was comfortable and a normal size. It's true the air conditioning didn't work for 20 minutes, but that's not a reason to generalize. Furthermore, taking a taxi back to the port was your decision because you simply wanted your own time, and the tour was a group tour. The 20 other passengers were waiting for you on the bus, and you made your own decision. And this is our first negative comment. But every comment helps us improve and give our best.
Having been in Peru 5 days and doing this directly after visiting Machu Picchu, perhaps it’s a hard to review this objectively. On the plus side our guide was great, very experienced, enthusiastic & knowledgable. The two archaeological sites were definitely worth the visit if a bit lengthy. The reed boats visit was a bit odd, coach loads of people staring at people making their living fishing on the reed boats or perhaps performing for the tourists? I’m sure it brings welcome income to the town though. It was a hot day & our elderly bus’ air conditioning stopped working. It was repaired within 30 minutes to be fair but left a hot & jaded group of people, most of whom were relieved to be dropped off at the end.
Rocío Reyna guided us through the Temples, Chan Chan, and Huanchaco. Pickup inside the port makes everything easier. The tour is complete and entertaining. Highly recommended for cruise tourists.

I loved that they can actually enter Salaverry port. It was so easy to get off the ship and board the vehicle. Rocío Reyna gave us a very informative tour. Chan Chan was the highlight of the day.
We enjoyed every stop of the itinerary. The Sun and Moon Temples are stunning in person. Pickup was inside the port, right at the ship. Thanks to Senovia for her excellent explanations.
