Mariam, la hija del rey Ashot I, prometió construir 30 iglesias en honor a su difunto esposo. Mantuvo su promesa durante toda su vida. Uno de ellos, Sevanavank, fue construido en 874. Fundada en el siglo IV, Sevanavank experimentó su desarrollo en el siglo IX. Aparte de las dos iglesias en pie, el khachkar único del siglo XVII, con sus muchas escenas bíblicas, merece especial atención. El nombre de la capital, Ereván, se registró por primera vez en la cúpula de Sevanavank.
Un paraíso invernal. Tsaghkadzor se transforma en un paraíso invernal cuando la nieve cubre el paisaje. Los entusiastas del esquí se alegran de las pistas bien equipadas del monte Teghenis, que ofrecen pistas para todos los niveles. Absolutely fantastic tour! I highly recommend it, especially if you're visiting during the winter and want to experience some snow. The tour began at Lake Sevan and included a stop at a monastery (I can’t remember the name) where you’ll need to climb 200 stairs, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. If you prefer to spend more time in Tsaghkadzor, I’d suggest booking a private tour instead. With this group tour, you’ll only have about an hour and a half to explore the winter wonderland.

I had an amazing time on the tour. Our guide, Hasmik, was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. She provided excellent explanations of the attractions and made the experience even better. Norik, our driver, was great as well, always punctual and made sure we felt safe throughout the trip. The bus was spacious, comfortably fitting 10-12 passengers. The attractions they selected were top-notch, and I’d highly recommend this tour to everyone.
