Más que un tour gastronómico, el recorrido que hacemos entre los puntos de degustación, también se recorre por puntos o lugares de valor turistico y cultural local. Andres Ulloa, anfitrión y guía quien representa la marca, más que un guía es chef local, conocedor e investigador de la cultura caribe y sus sabores. Ademas nació en el centro histórico de la ciudad. estas cualidades reunidas no las posee todo operador de tours gastronómicos. Como complemento a la experiencia del tour, el Chef y Guía, ofrece una lista adicional de de sugerencias de sus lugares y actividades locales favoritas.

Itinerario
Durante dos horas, los viajeros caminarán junto al chef y guía por varias zonas y sectores del centro histórico de Cartagena. Realizaremos 5 paradas de degustación de productos locales, en cada una de estas esperamos de 15 minutos aproximadamente, tiempo que tomaran los viajeros para degustar sin prisa los productos, mientras el chef explica los valores historicos y culturales de cada punto. Adicional a las 5 paradas recorreremos lugares atractivos como lo son la zerrezuela desde donde se aprecia una vista maravillosa de la ciudad, el barrio de getsemani, estruccturas amuralladas, la plaza de san diego y de los coches, entre otras.

I found Andres on social media and what attracted me were his reviews. We are a busy family that wanted to relax at home and enjoy private family time. We had delicious dinner with appetizer, main course , and dessert. We learned about the local culture and cuisine, we liked it so much we decided to book him for brunch the next day. He gave us a musical serenade with our bunch and it felt so special. We all tried something new and cant wait to use him again when we return! Highly recommend!

It was an absolutely wonderful tour. Everything I tried was delicious. My absolute favorite was the cóctel de cameron, as well as the best coffee I have ever had. You have options to choose from at each stop, depending on your personal taste, so you're sure to find something you like. Andres is very knowledgeable about both the food you get to try as well as the history of Cartagena. This is an excellent tour for lovers of both. He clearly cares a great deal for his community and loves sharing the beauty of it with visitors. He is remarkably passionate about his work. Though we spoke in Spanish, he also does speak English perfectly, so this should not be a concern. A note unrelated to the tour directly, but that I think is worth mentioning; at the end of my tour when I tried to get an Uber, my bank locked all my cards in spite of having been informed of my travel plans. Andres waited with me as a tried to fix things, and personally walked me back to where I was staying when I was unable to resolve the situation immediately. You are in very good hands. He will go out of his way to take care of you and make sure you have a good experience. I hope to stay in contact and visit again in the future.
Andres was our translator/guide on a crabbing experience. We enjoyed our time with him so much that we booked a private guided local flavors food tour with him as well. He took my husband and I around Cartagena and made stops at some of his favorites. We tried arepa de huevo con carne, shrimp cocktail, fruit, kola roman, candy & ended at a coffee shop. Everything was delicious! Andres showed us around the city, shared much about the local culture & history and made excellent recommendations. He recommended that we have dinner at La Vieja Guardia in Sandiego and made a reservation for us in the best seat in the house. The food there was soooo good and the service was excellent! Andres is very reliable & he speaks excellent English which was very helpful to us. I only regret that we didn't have time to have a meal prepared by Andres himself.

This was such a great experience. Andrés was kind enough to wait for us as we were running late, but started off the tour with a phenomenal arepa, along with the history of the recipe and cultural importance. After that, the walking tour included more street vendor stops that we would never have been able to find on our own. He had a wonderful history of Cartagena and the culture to share with us, along with more recommendations in the area and some great photos for us. Cannot recommend this tour enough, but be sure to come hungry and ready to try new flavors!
Andres took us round Cartagena showing us lots of local delicacies and providing lots of history about his home town. Food was great and Andres was lovely!

This was hands down the highlight of our entire experience in Cartagena. Andres is very knowledgeable on the area and well-known by the vendors and local business owners you go and speak with. He gives you a truly local experience and is flexible to your interests; we finished with what must have been the BEST coffee on the island and still got various recommendations to make the rest of our stay an absolute SUCCESS!! I cannot recommend Andres enough to everyone I come across. Thank you Andres for an amazing experience!

Andres was very easy to communicate with. Setting up the tour was seamless and he responded quickly to all my questions. He met us at our hotel in Boca Grande and was very kind and friendly. I love his passion for his community and food. We toured Bazurto Market. It was something that my fiancée and I had interest in doing since our last visit. He started our tour with a sample of fresh juices from a local juice stand outside the market. This was a great and refreshing way to start. The market was busy as any market would be but it wasn't hard to make our way around. We started then exploring the ins and outs of the market. The amount of stalls in the market would be impossible to count. Its very large. Mostly produce vendors but everything else under the sun as well. Meat, fish, spices, clothes, hardware, shoes, etc.. We ate lunch at a newer more modern restaurant on the outside of the market. They had a buffet of seafood, delicious sancocho, cold beer, fresh juices, AC and some traditional dancing as entertainment. Lunch was very satisfying and from there we went back into the market for another 45 minutes of zig zagging through hundreds of stalls. We finished the day purchasing some fresh local fruits which were delicious. Andres was very friendly, easy to talk to, kind and considerate and extremely knowledgeable. He is native to Cartagena and we felt very safe with him at all times. He also speaks English which helped as I am a gringo with a limited amount of spanish. We ended up leaving some local candies purchased in the market in Andres's bag and he was kind enough to meet us out in the old City to retrieve them. He ended up sharing free passes for a rooftop and a free beer at the clock tower. We enjoyed some more beers and conversation. Andres is not only a tour guide but will become a trusted friend in Cartagena. We look forward to returning and having Andres cook for us and enjoy another food tour around the old city.
