Our 2 hr Pompeii tour was superb. Our tour guide was so very knowledgeable and she enthusiastically shared her vast knowledge with our group. The pace was perfect, too. Once the tour ended, we were able to continue to one the site, including seeing an active excavation where 2 bodies were recently discovered. We had pizza and wine at a nearby cafe (called Suisse Café) which I thought would be a tourist trap but it's actually an older family outdoor restaurant with delicious pizza and inexpensive house wine. A perfect way to end a perfect tour day!

We booked a private tour with Askos because we have done group tours and have found we were not able to keep up due to mobility issues. Askos were wonderful - they are reachable via WhatsApp via message or calls. We had very specific demands of what we wanted to see and where we wanted to go, so we needed to meet them at a different gate to their normal tours. This was not a problem. They tailored the tour to suit us. A couple of hours prior to the tour, Gennaro messaged us introducing himself, and confirmed our requests. We arrived an hour early, so messaged Gennaro, who then agreed to meet us earlier. He arrived promptly and was instantly very friendly, chatty and was very funny. We felt instantly at ease with him. He asked us to confirm exactly what we would like to see, and even made some, what turned out to be, amazing recommendations of a couple of places that only had only opened in the past month, which we were unaware of. Gennaro was unbelievably knowledgeable on every area we had asked to see, going into great detail, in a very understandable way. His English was excellent. Our kids asked lots of questions and he enjoyed talking to them and answering anything they asked. It felt like walking around and seeing Pompeii with a friend, as he was personable and told us about his previous work, we talked about his best food recommendations, and living in Italy in general as we walked around. There was not one single minute where he wasn't talking and showing us eveything. Even though it was a 2hr tour, the time flew by and we were gutted it had come to an end. He even joined us for some authentic Italian Gellato at the end from his favourite gellateria! Thank you so much Gennaro and Askos Tours for one incredible experience. This is the best tour we have ever done; and a childhood dream was fulfilled!

Guide Ms. GRAZIA... I would like to recommend this fantastic guide to everyone who took us around Pompeii, making us relive the culture, history, beauty, and customs of the time.. It was truly interesting and she was welcoming and engaging in her storytelling with people of all ages. If you can, ask to take the tour with her... an excellent archaeologist! Wow! We were blown away with Pompeii. Our guide Sergio Poso was knowledgeable and very friendly. Answered any questions and did the tour at a good pace. 4pm was a good time to go, heat and crowds were not too much. Thankyou Sergio we would recommend.
