You meet in a rather non descript looking bakery they seat you and offer you many different pastries as well as cold drinks. After 10 minutes we were taking to the back where there is a very large and nice bakery that produces many many loaves of bread and pastries. Maria our instructor was wonderful and the class was lots of fun and informative. It’s a little warm inside in the summer but it was fine. We made baguettes round breads croissants and madeleines. 5 of us really enjoyed it. You will too.
Lovely and personal experience, our teacher was lovely and very chatty. We made baguettes, loafs and little cakes which were were able to take away with us. We also rolled croissants but due to the proofing time we didn’t take these with us. We were met in the morning with a hot drink and a pastry of our choice which was a lovely touch. When you book, the location is not set and you receive a text the day before to tell you where to go, we have booked bag lockers near the orignal location not expecting it to change to something to be aware of. The experience also was significantly shorter than listed, arrival time being changed to 9am and finishing at 11:30 instead of 12:30 even though the other people on our door arrived 30 minutes late. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone visiting Paris, we made sandwiches with our bread and snacked on the cakes for the rest of the day.
This was an Amazing experience!! The instructor was phenomenal!!! He was fun, funny and really knew how to capture the attention of not only adults but especially children. I'm looking forward to booking again! This class made the 1st trip to Paris one for the books. We all learned a lot and I personally left with some great talking points and fun facts about Paris and its love for French Bread and Croissants. One of my fav classes to date!
Our bakery experience was amazing. Lisa and Bakery Maison Julien were great and we left with so many baked goods including the baguettes and financiers we made along with some pain au chocolats and almond croissants.
Our guide, Mourad, was excellent! Wonderful experience! We enjoyed making the different bakery items, seeing the bakery, and tasting the treats. Lots of good information and good humor. Highly recommend!
Our experience at the bakery was the highlight of our trip. Our host/guide, Mourad, was amazing! We were down in the kitchen of the bakery making all sorts of delicious breads and pastries and laughing the entire time. Mourad was funny, engaging, GREAT with kids, and he truly made this an experience we will never forget!
Fun expérience! Kids loved it. Teacher was patient, friendly and nice!
Overall experience was wonderful and eye opening due to our guide’s energy and knowledge.. Bakery was in a beautiful yet slightly run down bakery with no AC. So it got very hot when we working in the basement on the baguettes. Left with two baguettes per person that we made ourselves plus the financiers. The croissant dough is pre formed and we stretch to roll out which was fun. But we do not get to eat the croissants which makes sense when you learn how much time is needed to make them.
If you are traveling with anyone with mobility issues this is not the tour for you. Incredibly steep spiral stairs (with no lift) and you go up and down the three floors often. Also less of a baking class and more of a quick example of three types of baked goods. We wish we could have cooked more.
Marie was amazing! We had such a great class! I learned so much! We made baguettes, croissant and Le madeline!
