Despierta con algunas de las vistas más fabulosas, mientras el sol sale sobre las laderas occidentales andinas. ¡Su guía especializado compartirá sus vastos conocimientos en historia natural, observación de aves, cultura y fotografía para aprovechar al máximo su experiencia hoy! Una vez que llegues al ecosistema tropical andino único, los colibríes tomarán toda tu atención. Visitarás 3 reservas ubicadas a diferentes altitudes. Los comederos de aves llevarán especies que de otro modo serían esquivas a distancias muy cercanas, lo que le permitirá fotografiarlas y disfrutar de su belleza inigualable. Podrás observar hasta 15 especies diferentes de colibríes, muchos de ellos endémicos de esta Bio-región, como la impresionante Corneta de Terciopelo-púrpura, Púrpura - bibbed Whitetip, Inca Marrón, Emperatriz Brillante y Sunangel Gargantado. El bosque nuboso ofrece un increíble entorno mixto de cascadas y caminatas a través de exuberantes bosques verdes que le permitirán tener un día de profunda conexión con la naturaleza.

Itinerario
Después de una recogida temprana, nos dirigimos hacia el bosque nuboso: comience el día con algunas de las vistas más fabulosas de las laderas de los Andes occidentales. Nuestra primera parada es la reserva Alambi, un paraíso para los colibríes ubicado a solo 1h15m de Quito. Aquí los comederos y las flores del jardín atraen a varias especies de colibríes, lo que permite a los visitantes ver a veces más de 10 especies en un día a una distancia sorprendentemente corta. Las condiciones aquí brindan excelentes oportunidades para la fotografía de aves, para tener una primera idea de la maravillosa diversidad que alberga el bosque de clud, y para relajarse y disfrutar de la belleza inigualable de estas joyas aladas.
Nuestra siguiente parada es la Reserva San Tadeo.
A continuación, nos trasladamos a Mindo, para un delicioso almuerzo en un restaurante local.
Explorando el área alrededor de Mindo podemos encontrar varias reservas que ofrecen oportunidades para encontrar nuevas especies de aves. La selva tropical subtropical es el hogar de una destacada cantidad de orquídeas, aves, mamíferos, insectos y reptiles. Además, las cascadas y los ríos lo invitan a probar sus refrescantes aguas cristalinas. Habla con tu guía sobre tus intereses (senderismo, observación de aves, fotografía, naturaleza en general) y te llevarán al mejor destino para aprovechar al máximo tu día.
Si opta por realizar la extensión del tour, nuestra última parada será en el lek Andino Cock of the Rock. Esta colorida e icónica especie exhibe un marcado dimorfismo sexual, el macho tiene una gran cresta en forma de disco y un plumaje escarlata vivo muy singular. Las reuniones de machos compiten por las hembras reproductoras y cada macho muestra su colorido plumaje, se balancea y salta, y hace gritos estridentes. Si elige esta extensión, puede esperar estar de regreso en su hotel en Quito a última hora de la tarde.
Este tour termina con un recorrido panorámico de regreso y regreso a su hotel en Quito o en el área del aeropuerto.

We had a great guide for a day of bird watching and photography. He was on time for our early morning pick up, took us to three sites to photograph birds, including hummingbirds, toucan, and more. He was SUPER helpful showing us how to adjust our camera settings for the best shots. Highly recommend.

We did a 2-day private tour with Neotropical Nature and Birding that involved visiting several reserves and focused on birds and other wildlife. Early planning of the trip was easy with fast responses from Gaby. Sebastian, our guide, was excellent! He knew his birds but also general natural history. He was also very patient with us given we frequently got the various hummingbird species mixed up! A landslide happened on the road we were supposed to take on the first morning, but Sebastian, in connection with Neotropical Nature, quickly changed the itinerary to avoid the blocked road. All locations we went to were fantastic with the variety and diversity of birds amazing. The first afternoon we visited the cock-of the rock lek which was very interesting. We spent the night at Sachatamia: nice trail system, bird feeders, and the early morning moth/bird blind was great! We highly recommend Neotropical Nature and Birding and hope to do a future trip with them.

A lot of humming birds on two locations. Batteries too and observation of thé cocktail of thé rock. Gabriel thé guide very efficient and has a very good knowledge of nature

My daughter and myself both felt that the tour surpassed our expectations of what we could expect. It was a first class experience of seeing wild birds up close and having the pleasure of Santiago to answer all our questions and much more. The tour was customised to our interests and planned in advance with Santiago. This led an earlier start to see birds just after dawn. Santiago had so much experience, knowledge and skills and was flexible and able to adapt to a changing situation so we could see and hear a wide range of birds, over 60 different species in the day. We got to visit a number of reserves and the tour was not rushed and Santiago was always on the lookout for new sightings and it was incredible what it could see and hear to then direct us to see/hear the same. Santiago had a great understanding of the habitats were visiting and also on the lookout for other wildlife such as reptiles. Santiago was well equipped with telescope and other equipment to see and hear birds real close up. It was truly magical day and it was fantastic that Santiago recorded all the birds we had seen/heard and sent us the list. We would highly recommend Santiago for any wild life tours In South America, check out their website you won’t disappointed.

Dario was prompt in the pick up time. He was fairly quiet during the drive, but was very knowledgeable on the birds and cameras (both pro settings and camera phones). Alambi hummingbird reserve was great. Many feeders and many birds per feeder. Sachatamia had a cute set up for hummingbirds as well as a lookout into the valley. A short 300 meter walking path was cut into the grounds. We also had lunch here which was fine. They attempted to work with a dietary restriction, but missed with dessert. Mindo Loma was a great ending to the day. The hummingbirds were super active and friendly. We were able to sit under a covered area so the rain was not an issue. We even got to hand feed them at all locations! After this one day tour, we ended up with over 2000 hummingbird photos… we just couldn’t stop taking pictures of the cute lil birds. Truly an amazing experience!!

This tour was absolutely the highlight of our trip. Gabriel was our guide for a fabulous tour of the cloud forest in Mindo with incredible bird sightings. After picking us up early in the morning from our hotel, we headed to the cloud forest. Along the way we stopped at several different spots to see vast numbers of bird species. Gabriel was an expert in identifying the different birds for us. The shear number of different hummingbirds and tangiers that we saw was unbelievable. We also took a cable ride across the Mindo valley for spectacular views followed by a nice hike to a beautiful waterfall with many more bird sightings along the way. We had a most delicious lunch at a local restaurant. We then headed in search of the Andean Cock of the Rock and were able to see several in a remote area. This was such an awesome experience. Gabriel took such great care of us and made sure we had plenty of time for photography. If you love birdwatching and/or bird photography, then this tour is a must with the best guide ever, Gabriel.

Outstanding tour! The various locations we visited were a treasure trove of hummingbirds, birds, flora and fauna. Our guide Dario taught us so much about the area, hummingbirds and on top of that helped me understand and use my camera to its optimum, capturing amazing images. We can't stop talking about the tour now that we are home. The highlight of our trip!

We were very disappointed. We booked this excursion at the start of our holiday. We got up at 5.30. No one arrived to collect us . After 20 minutes we messaged to ask if the excursion had been cancelled- the person answering the message said they had received no notification that this was the case. After an hour, we messaged again and were asked if we had phoned. When we did phone we were told the excursion had indeed been cancelled. It’s a shame no one contacted us at any point.

We immediately issued a full refund and sent a written explanation via email — though I understand from your review that the message may not have reached you in time. I also realize that your initial messages came through the booking platform rather than to us directly, which may have further delayed our ability to communicate the situation promptly. I completely understand how upsetting it must have been not to receive timely information. This situation was not up to the standards we work hard to uphold, and I deeply regret that this unforeseen event disrupted your plans.
