Our day trip from Paris to Mont Saint-Michel and the D-Day sites exceeded all expectations. The driver was punctual, friendly, and incredibly professional throughout the entire tour. He was a very responsible driver who made us feel safe and comfortable on the long journey. What impressed us most was his knowledge of the region's history. He shared fascinating stories about Mont Saint-Michel, the Normandy coastline, and the events of D-Day, making every location come alive. He was always happy to answer our questions and regularly asked if we needed extra time at each stop. His excellent service and local knowledge made this one of the best tours we've ever taken.
Excellent tour, the timing never felt too rushed or too slow. I especially appreciated that at Pointe du Hoc our guide Maria personally explained the history and guided us through the site. Perhaps a brief explanation of the full itinerary at the very beginning of the tour would have made the experience even better, but overall it was absolutely worth it.
They maximised the time at each point of interest. Luis, our guide, was knowledgeable and happy to answer all questions. It was a long trip, but the breaks were provided at the right moments, and the French countryside along the way was beautiful. I would happily recommend Tour Up in Europe.
We would have liked to have a bit more time at Omaha Beach and the bunkers. We had to rush back to meet the group on time. This may have been necessary on our day since the tour started an hour late due to a bus problem, which was resolved and we appreciated the complimentary bakery snack as amends for the late start. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Loved getting set up on WhatsApp so that communication was seamless. Also appreciated the articles sent to us about the places. I liked the way the bus ride was broken up into introductions, some quiet rest time, and time to simply enjoy the French countryside. Christina did provide background information, but I would have appreciated a bit more historical narration about the sites. Then again, I’m a bit of a history nerd. All in all, it was a fabulous trip. I’m glad the hosts warned us about the weather. Both
My husband and I sincerely enjoyed our day-trip (D-Day | Omaha Beach and German bunkers, and Mont Saint Michel). Our guide, Louis, was extremely knowledgeable and kind. He shared his passion, historical facts and photos with us, which truly enhanced our experience! Omaha Beach holds a profound reverence, and the German bunkers carry a haunting darkness. We were deeply moved by this meaningful experience. Mont Saint Michel was PHENOMENAL! Nothing like anything we had ever visited before. The crowd was large, but manageable. Definitely visit the magnificent abbey… worth every stone step! Our time at each location was very sufficient, as were our restroom
We are so thankful to Natalie and her driver – we had the absolute best day. We saw so much and learned so much! Natalie and her driver are very accommodating and we’re great to spend the day with!
We recoomend this company We were struggling to combine both Rouen and Mont Saint Michel in one day we couldnt find a company that could do it Then we found Tour up in europe We are very happy with a 2 day toir that we did in the end Our guide and driver were very helpful Thank you or everything
This was a VIP experience from start to finish. Our guide, Daniel, was knowledgeable and quite expert about both World War II and Mont Saint Michel. Our driver, Alex, was very safe and extremely courteous. All the arrangements (admission, entrance fees, etc.) were seamlessly included. The timing of all events was perfect. We made a few changes to the agenda in advance of the tour, which Daniel was unaware of, but he smoothly pivoted to accommodate the new agenda. We would highly recommend this private tour as “the way to go” to see as much as possible in a compressed amount of time.
My young adult daughter and I were trying to pack as much into a short trip to Paris as possible. This private tour helped us do that by allowing us to see two of our must-see historic locations in one day. We were picked up in a beautiful new Mercedes sedan. We had both a driver and a well-educated tour guide, Nataly, who came well prepared. Nataly was friendly and talkative. She made the long car drive feel much shorter with her knowledge of history and French life. She brought along her iPad so she could illustrate some of the information she shared. Yes, it's a very long day, but well worth it!
This was hands down one of the best days of our 7 week holiday of Europe. It was a long day, but worth it and worth every dollar we paid. We were transported by a private driver in a Mercedes van - very comfortable for the long day. Our guide Danila was great - young, knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. Was worth the money to go as a small group, we were able to ask questions and chat as we walked. Such a privilege to walk on Omaha Beach and pay our respects to those fallen US servicemen. Mont Saint-Michel was an absolute treat. What a magical place - almost straight out of Harry Potter. If you’re thinking of a day trip from Paris - do this one!!
