Brian was a very wonderful and informative guide and brought us to many great locations throughout the day including a wonderful lunch spot, great coastal and remote areas! Unfortunately the van was the problem. Diesel vapors were flowing through the air conditioning and it was EXTREMELY bumpy (new shocks needed) especially for those in the very back which made for a very uncomfortable ride. Other than the van I would recommend a tour with Brian.
Thanks for your feedback. The roads in wicklow make for quite a bumpy ride in any vehicle if you want to see the best scenery. We will look into the shocks, and any vapors you mentioned. All the best, Brian
My wife and I booked a private day tour with a car and driver that took us from our hotel in Dublin to Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains and back. Brian, our driver, was perfect, exhibiting the wit, wisdom and gentle humor of the Irish. He knew the countryside intimately and was able to take us to some fabulous locations with breathtaking scenery and interesting history. We were also able to customize the itinerary to meet our specific interests and had as much or as little free time at any of the stops as we desired. All in all, we had a wonderful experience in the Irish countryside. I would highly recommend a private car and driver for anyone who does not want to navigate the small country lanes or confusing city streets on their own (all the while driving on, what is for us, the wrong side of the road). It is also a prefect way to set your own agenda and avoid the rush and the crowds of a scheduled bus tour.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write us a wonderful review. We couldn't say it better ourselves. Private tours are all about customization, avoiding the crowds, touring to your schedule and taking the stress out of our challenging country roads. We are delighted you had a memorable experience and hope to welcome you back again sometime.
We highly recommend Brian as a private tour guide. He was knowledgeable, personable, and custom designed the tour to meet our sightseeing requests. We would not hesitate to tour with him again.
Our group of 5 (all seniors) had a wonderful day with Brian during our one day cruise stop in Dublin. Brian began the tour with a drive down the south coast to see the beautiful views and to show us homes of the "rich and famous" in the area. Then we headed to the Wicklow Mountains for an outstanding day with several stops along the way. Brian shared a lot of history about the areas we toured. I would definitely book with him again the next time we're in the Dublin area.
Thanks Pauline it was a pleasure to meet you seasoned travellers. This was an eventful day ! Thanks and hope to see you back in Ireland again. Brian
What a fun day trip with such a lovely guide! Brian took us on a private day trip to the Wicklow Mountains. He is an expert navigator - showing us the sites and updating us on the Irish history. He also had a professional camera and took many family photos - memories we’ll cherish forever! We ended the day listening to live Irish music. We hope to book him on our next trip!
Thanks so much this was a great start to the season with a musical ending :). It was lovely to meet your family and I hope you come back to explore more of Ireland
My husband and I just returned from holiday in Ireland. We stayed in Dublin and traveled to the South region thereafter. Boru Irish Adventures allowed us to customize our experience for two days of tours. Our first expedition was to the Wicklow Mountains from Dublin. It really is a special place. What we enjoyed about our experience was the local context and perspective. The ride over to the mountains was filled with great stories and less traveled places of interest. We spent a second day traveling South towards the Kerry region. The possibilities are endless here and Boru was great about offering alternatives. So much to see! They were great, hospitable and flexible. Had we had more time I think we would have planned a scenic bike ride. Good Luck! Having a local guide was important to us and they were over the top nice.
Thank you Isis and Mark. What a great couple of days thanks so much for taking the time to write this fabulous review. Hope you come back to Ireland again. Brian
