El templo pagano de Garni fue construido en la segunda mitad del siglo I por el rey Trdat III. Este es el único templo pagano, que se ha conservado en el territorio de Armenia. Después de la adopción del cristianismo, se convirtió en la residencia de verano de Khosrovadukht, hermana del rey Trdat III. Fue destruido en 1679 por un terremoto. Partes, fragmentos de gráciles columnas y piedras de pared se extendieron alrededor del templo. Se supone que el templo fue dedicado a Mitra, el dios del sol. El templo de Garni está incluido en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO.
El Arco de Charents se encuentra cerca de Ereván, entre el templo pagano de Garni y el complejo del monasterio cristiano Geghard en el pueblo de Vokhchaberd. El nombre del complejo del monasterio Geghard (lanza) proviene de la lanza Langin’n, que perforó el cuerpo de Jesucristo en la cruz. Por el momento esta lanza se guarda en el museo de Etchmiadzin. El complejo del monasterio Geghard está incluido en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO.
En la provincia de Kotayk, cerca del pueblo, Garni se encuentra uno de los monumentos naturales más conocidos y bellos de Armenia: la Sinfonía de las Piedras. Se dice que este monumento natural es el resultado del colapso de las rocas volcánicas. El monumento consiste en enormes columnas de basalto pentágono y hexágono paradójicamente simétrico (casi 50 metros de altura). Estas piedras que cuelgan de la gravedad se asemejan a un órgano, lo que explica por qué también se conoce como "Tubos de órganos de basalto". El río de Azat fluye a través del desfiladero, salpicando así la fascinante belleza de las piedras con los borbotones. Desde el territorio del monumento también puede ingresar a la Reserva Estatal del Bosque Khosrov y descubrir una de las áreas especialmente protegidas de Armenia.

We had an amazing experience with Jan Armenia, and a big part of that was because of our guide and driver, Arshak. From day one, he was always before time, cheerful, polite, and incredibly helpful. As pure vegetarians, finding the right food was a challenge because of the language barrier, but he went out of his way to help us choose and order the right food everywhere we went. He even introduced us to local fruits and dishes we would have otherwise missed. What really stood out was how much he genuinely cared about making our trip special. He accompanied us to almost every place, climbed up to monasteries with us, explained the history, architecture, and significance of each place, and shared so many interesting stories about Armenia. He also took us to a few beautiful spots that weren't part of the itinerary but knew our son would absolutely love them. Those little surprises made our trip even more memorable. He also saved us from unnecessary haggling and places where tourists could easily be overcharged. Every stop was thoughtfully planned with clean washrooms, good coffee, and food options which made travelling with family so much easier. By the end of the trip, it genuinely felt like we were travelling with a local friend. His warmth, patience, knowledge, and hospitality made our Armenia trip unforgettable. A big thank you to the entire Jan Armenia team as well. Everything was managed smoothly from start to finish, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
