Family time in Ketchikan

Our tour guide Jennifer was so knowledgeable, she listened to what we wanted to do and made it happen. We saw bears, waterfalls, totem polls, beach time with sea stars and sand crabs. She was wonderful with our 5 year old granddaughter and made it interesting for all of us. We had a family of 9 and it was enjoyed by all.

Only general tour of area - nothing special

It was just ok. Our guide only had one stop for possible bear sightings which is the same spot the large tours go to. There were no bears there so we went to see two different waterfalls which were beautiful but not what we hoped to see. We stopped at a tidal pool area on the beach but were not prepared for wet feet. We drove past the totem poles due to lack of time but we still returned to town a little early. No real history or culture information offered on the tour

Ketchican Alaska Hike !

Our hiking tour in Ketchikan was one of the highlights of our Alaska trip, and **Zak** made it truly unforgettable. Before we started, we let him know we were hoping to see wildlife and waterfalls, and he went above and beyond to make that happen. Throughout the hike, Zak shared fascinating information about the local ecosystem, including plants to avoid, the unique root systems of the trees, and the ecological importance of the rainforest. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and love for the area made every stop both educational and enjoyable. One of the most memorable moments was spotting whales from the shoreline during our hike. We also saw numerous bald eagles soaring overhead. To make our experience even more special, Zak generously spent extra time with us and took us out of the way to a salmon hatchery where bears are often seen. While wildlife is never guaranteed, we truly appreciated the extra effort he made to give us every opportunity to experience Alaska's incredible nature. What stood out most was Zak's genuine passion for the outdoors and his excitement in sharing it with others. His positive attitude, extensive knowledge, and willingness to go the extra mile made this one of the best excursions of our trip. If you're looking for an authentic, informative, and memorable hiking experience in Ketchikan, we highly recommend requesting Zak. Thank you for an amazing day! Zak has his own company called Takeahikeak.com 907-331-4205

Best Tour Ever!

Hanna was amazing! My co-writer and I had a zillion questions about the area we needed to get right for our next novel. She took us to little known areas and corrected some misconceptions we had. She showed us a lot of life too and my grandsons were mesmerized. One grandson accidentally left behind new 3d printed toys and Hanna offered to send them. We could not hav had a better day or a more accommodating guide. She was determined to get us everything we needed and we even managed to record a promo video for our publishing house at the perfect location. This was a phenomenal experience!!

Great Ketchikan afternoon

Shad was a great guide. Very knowledgeable, prompt, communicative, and kind. Great wildlife viewing of bears, salmon , eagles, and seals. Interesting and intense waterfall hike. Loved ir for the adventurous ones and then others went to the backside of the falls and stayed at the bottom of the mountain.

The Best of Ketchikan

Hannah provided an exceptional day for our family of 14. We all climbed into her clean, comfortable van and were off on an adventure. Hannah provided interesting commentary as we headed to the totem pole museum. We then explored the Creek Street Boardwalk and saw salmon struggling upriver. We had decided to take a drive to look for bear when one decided to trash dive right beside the road. After such good views, we changed plans and headed to the port to search for sea life. Hannah scooped up a variety of star fish, sea urchins, slugs, jellyfish, etc. for everyone to touch and learn. We ended on Creek Street visiting native stores. It was an amazing excursion…one the kids will never forget!
