This tour was perfect for a half day experience providing a fascinating insight into Hungary’s chequered history. Our guide Raymond was very knowledgable and we were enthralled by the stories of the people who shaped Budapest since Roman times and the significance of the wonderful buildings in the Castle area. The inside of the Matthias Church was beautiful and the views across the Danube were breathtaking.
Raymond was a VERY good guide. Engaging, knowledgeable and friendly. Great pace, Great stops and a willingness to stop and answer questions.
This tour involved an easy medium paced walk. Gabriel did not rush the group. Gabriel provided an historical overview of Hungary’s past. He was knowledgeable about the country’s history and shared many stories that helped us understand the Buda and Pest stories. Our group enjoyed the tour.
We had an excellent, informative tour of Buda with Gabor who was very knowledgeable and engaging. We thoroughly enjoyed walking the quaint streets and hearing all about their past and interesting history. We would have missed this if Gabor hadn’t taken us. Thank you.
I booked the Matthias Church & Buda Castle tour through Viator. The tour was very well structured, with great historical context throughout and a perfect pace for exploring the Castle District. Highlights included the beautiful interior tour of Matthias Church, panoramic views from Fisherman’s Bastion, and fascinating insights into the history of the Royal Palace over the centuries. The tour concluded with a grand view of Matthias Fountain and was an excellent blend of history, architecture, and scenery. Our guide. Leti, did an amazing job bringing the history to life while keeping the experience engaging and enjoyable throughout, even in challenging weather conditions. Highly recommend this tour, and if I return to Budapest, I would absolutely do it again.
Thank you for sharing your experiences! We are super happy that you still enjoyed the tour despite the wind and rain, that really tells us something about Leti's storytelling skills.
My family and I had so much fun with our guide, Raymond, who was very knowledgeable, entertaining and great with the kids (7 and 9 yo.). He told the legends and stories from centuries before and he made us understand why it was important or groundbreaking at the time. We have learnt a lot and had so much fun. Thanks again Raymond! 10/10 Would highly recommend
Thank you very much, hope to see you again!

Hi David, thank you very much for the kind words!
We did not receive a prior email on where to meet our guide but fortunately she reached out via text the day of the tour to coordinate a meeting point. Our guide, Judit, was very nice, knowledgeable and made the tour a great experience.
Hi Daniel, Thanks for the info about the email not going out, we have fixed that now. We are happy that you had a great time with Judit!
