My wife and I love the hop-on-hop-off experience and we have done them with numerous operators in a least a half dozen major cities across Europe. I have to say that this one was my least favourite. The bus is half enclosed on the upper deck so you only have a 50-50 shot of an outside seat. Inside it’s HOT (or it was for us). The closed part also limited the air flow for the outdoor seats and obscures the front visibility. It’s nice of course to have the audio guide- and that was done quite well. The Big Bus itself is “fine” But Paris is perhaps not a great venue for these tours because traffic always seems horrendous. The bus moves along at a snail’s place and it’s a jerky experience. There weren’t a lot of jump off points either - although they covered the major attractions. In this case I just felt the bus moved way too slowly and the ride was uncomfortable due to the constant stop and go. Getting around by Metro is faster and easier. If you only have a day and want to get around d to see the sites in one shot - this is a good option. That said, Paris is the only city in which I did not enjoy the bus experience and aside from the audio guide, getting around by Metro would have been much easier .
Always book these bus tours whatever city we visit. We had the 48hr hop-on-hop-off which is perfect. Knowing that we do not need to navigate public transport and can be above ground admiring the city even if we choose not to get off is one less thing to worry about. There is always a bus no more than 10 minutes away so you do not need to checking timetables or watches. So easy!! It is a bit pricey but definitely worth it.
This is a nice way to see the city and give your legs a break from walking as well. It’s easy to hop on and off and I’ve now booked this with my family (great for kids) and with a friend.

The tour was good and trip down the Seine but I would not advise trying to use this as transport to each place if you are on a time limit

The hop-on hop-off bus was a great way to see Paris without having to do too much walking right away. It was easy to use, covered all the major sights, and made getting around the city simple. A great option if you want to take in the highlights at your own pace and decide what to explore further.

The Hop on and Off Bus is great and has a lot of information full stop you can get all forever us and get back on the bus at different locations. However the cruise was not very good which is the reason why I did not give it all the stars up I would not recommend doing the cruise you may go sleep.

Great way to get around Paris and see sights. Remember to pick up headphones on way upstairs so you can listen to information on sights and stops. Jump off at sights you want to visit and hop back on.

Best audio quality and content I've heard on one of these type bus tours. No crackling and popping and irritating music. Content was sufficient, but still could be more info. The timing and location was off a few times ("you are now next to..." was not true). The boat ride was fine, not exciting- someone should tell them that since people are sitting left, right, forward and backward, the "on your left" descriptions don't work, at all. Silly. We laughed. "Coming up on your right" WHOSE right? It was not clear how to get to the boat, and when I asked the representative, he just pointed at the river, instead of "use the crosswalk, go past the wall and down the stairs to your right."
