This tour was fabulous! The guide was knowledgeable, personable and fun to be with. Visiting these villages with such a great guide is a day that I will never forget. I highly recommend this tour.
Alex has amazing knowledge of the history, culture, art, geology – really everything about the Luberon area. We were treated to the best day possible visiting the villages. Alex pointed out, lesser-known spots and great photography views. Highly recommend.
All 3 villages were beautiful. The views from Gordes were my favorite. It was breathtaking to see the village from the viewpoint. There was enough time in each village to wonder a bit and get a sample of the village. Morgan was a great guide.
A magnificent excursion with Inés as guide, who, knowing my difficulty with English took his time for explanations in Spanish. Excellent humor and a careful and prudent driver.
While we enjoyed the day but 2 towns would have been enough. There really wasn't enough time to walk around by ourselves in Gordes and Lourmain. We enjoyed our lunch at Omma in Rousillion, recommended by our guide. The view from the terrace was beautiful too. Our guide Camille was excellent, telling us a lot of history of the area, but not too much. Out fellow passengers were interesting and we all got along. Parking was a problem at all times due to high number of cars. I'm glad we didn't do this is summer.
Excellent guide Camille. Very good deal. He gave us a lot of information about the places we visited. Very nice little towns.
Wonderful trip to Luberon Viillages, Gordes, Roussillon and Lourmarin. Our tour guide Camille was very friendly and knowledgeable, I got a crash course about wine making and different type of wines on the road. She gave a good background history of each village we visited. The scenery of each village was beautiful, our tour group was just right with 7 people in a a new and comfortable Mercedes- Ben Van.
I was happy to visit beautiful Luberon with wonderful guide Julian. He is well educated and well mannered young man. Route to Luberon villages is very picturesque. Julian answered all our questions. Minivan is roomy and comfortable. Best of all I liked Rusillion and amazing Ochres trail. It was memorable day in a great company.
The villages included in the Luberon full day trip itinerary are definitely worth visiting. Given nearly all hill top sites have relatively similar charms in terms of structure, architecture and layout once you are inside them and walking about what tends to differentiate them is the appearance as you approach. Each perches on its uniquely distinctive rock outcrop, crag or cliff and each offers a different perspective of the surrounding countryside when viewed from its walls and ramparts. On this tour all the villages despite sharing some characteristics were sufficiently different to justify the cost and time spent a mini-bus travelling to and from Aix and between the individual sites. Our estimate would be 3- 31/2 hours of road travel. It was also a big plus to be given sufficient free time to explore each alone on foot. However with so long in the mini-bus the role of the guide can be crucial in making or breaking the overall enjoyment of the trip. Unfortunately ours fell into the latter category. A good guide is sensitive to the interests and preferences of their passengers and initiates a dialogue with them rather than being in love with the sound of their own voice and determined to bombard a captive (and increasingly weary) audience with an unremitting flow of obscure and marginal facts laced with personal opinions on anything and everything from climate change to domestic political issues. Whilst there were probably some useful and interesting snippets of information hidden within these unceasing monologues they got lost and we found the him so tedious we resorted to listening to music on noise cancelling headphones. With a different guide we would have been minded to give the trip 5 stars.
I loved this season and the beautiful scenes. It was a beautiful day. The driver was very courteous. It was very joyful
