Excursión de tres días desde Taipéi a Alishan, Lago Sun Moon, Taichung

Terrible experience! We booked in November,2025 on Expedia, two adults for the trip. March8, 2026, my friend and I were at meeting point Taipei Main Station M3, around 6:40 am, but Travel agent staff did not come to pick us up for the trip. We did not get the service we paid for. We had no place to stay since we were from the other country. Now we have to try to get a refund, hopefully MyProGuide Inc give us full refund since they didn’t provide the service.

You need to get up early like 4am to go to the peak to see the sunrise at Alishan. Viator contract the tour to MyProGuide, which has English guide if you are lucky. In our case, we got someone who can only converse basic English. MyProGuide is very inflexible in where the pickup point is. In my case our Eva Air flight from Toronto was delayed by 1.5 hours. The guide forced us to take HSR and bus to Alishan which was additional cost and not to mention lost time for half a day.

Overall we enjoyed this three-day trip, and Xiao-Hei was friendly. The experience was as advertised, including two comfortable hotel rooms near Alishan and Sun Moon Lake, and Xiao-Hei drove the group to all the scheduled locations. Highlights included visiting the Alishan Forest Railway, Sun Moon Lake and its surrounding ports, Wen Wu Temple, Taichung, National Taichung Theater, and Gaomei Wetland. A quick note for future travelers: you’ll need to wake up early (around 5:00 a.m.) on Day 2 to catch the sunrise at Zhushan Sunrise Observation Deck. One thing to be aware of is that even though this was a three-day trip involving quite a bit of driving, our group was in a regular van (Toyota Sienna) which was full with luggage, so it felt tight. Especially in a middle seat. It worked out but it did catch us and the other guests by surprise, as we had assumed it would be an actual tour bus, which would have been more spacious and offered a higher vantage point. We thought that because even our one-day tours in Taipei used a tour bus. It was still acceptable but we’re just mentioning this so others know that this arrangement is typical for this trip. If there was an option to pay a bit more to have the same trip with a tour bus that would been nice. Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience.

I had an amazing three day tour at Alishan forest and sun moon lake. Beautiful scenery and stunning landscapes. Our guide Xiao Hei was very helpful with answering all our questions, taking our pictures and driving us to all the hotspots! Would definitely recommend and visit again. 10/10!

Three days in Taiwan — and it feels like I've lived a small lifetime. Allan showed the beauty and contrasts of this island: the scent of Alishan tea and the little red train climbing through the misty forest, the quiet paths among giant trees, the sunrise above the clouds and amazing sunsets. We visited temples glowing with incense, tasted the creamiest ice cream, wandered through wetlands full of tiny businesslike crabs, took a peaceful boat ride, and enjoyed every moment he captured in beautiful photos for our whole group. Thank you, Allan, for making Taiwan unforgettable.

Our tour guide, Vanness, was a fun and entertaining tour guide. He was knowledgeable. He is a save driver and very helpful taking pictures for everyone. Thanks to him, we enjoyed our itinerary.

Tour Guide Xiao-Hei did a very good job of both touring our group and providing photo opportunities throughout the travel. He kept us in the loop on what we were doing each day and ensured we were all well. No issues and would go again!

We had such a wonderful time on this tour. Joanna Lin our guide was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond. She was extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help. Alishan and Sun Moon Lake were beautiful places to visit and the accommodation was perfect. We would definitely recommend this trip.

Our time during this 3 day tour was very memorable. Alishan was a very refreshing experience of beautiful sceneries, sunrise, sunset and surprisingly monkeys. The sunrise train is a must do. Sun Moon Lake is very beautiful. The boat rides to different ports were quite fun. The hotel stays were very clean, comfortable with nice amenities. Our driver/guide Johnny was very attentive and accommodating. He drove us in a minivan and took us around to all the points of interests. Some are guided by him and some we explored on our own. Overall we had a very enjoyable time.
