Itinerario
Visitaremos las plantaciones de café donde aprenderemos las técnicas antiguas utilizadas por los expertos para producir algunos de los mejores cafés en Costa Rica y en todo el mundo. Luego se ilustrará el cuidadoso proceso involucrado en el cultivo, la cosecha y el tostado del Golden Bean.
Después del recorrido por el café, continuaremos hacia el Parque Nacional Volcán Poás, donde hay un cambio notable en la temperatura y la exuberante vegetación del bosque nuboso. El Volcán Poás es un estratovolcán activo de 2.708 metros (8.885 pies). El cráter del volcán tiene más de una milla de ancho y 1050 pies de profundidad. Ha entrado en erupción 40 veces desde 1828, incluido abril de 2017. En el Volcán tendremos tiempo para disfrutar del impresionante cráter principal con sus fumarolas de azufre, y caminar por un sendero hacia la hermosa Laguna de Botos mientras aprendemos sobre los diferentes ecosistemas en el parque.
Después de Poás, continuaremos hacia el Jardín de la Cascada de La Paz, donde disfrutaremos de un almuerzo buffet (calificado con 4 tenedores por el Consejo de Turismo de Costa Rica) que incluye múltiples selecciones de platos tradicionales costarricenses y mucho más. En La Paz Waterfall Gardens atravesaremos senderos para caminar rodeados de una exuberante selva tropical. Aquí apreciaremos ríos blancos que fluyen, cascadas espectaculares, pájaros, mariposas, monos y colibríes. También hay exhibiciones educativas de animales para disfrutar, como el aviario, el observatorio de mariposas, el jardín de colibríes, el serpentario, la exhibición de gatos de la selva y la exhibición de ranas. Este es definitivamente un recorrido que disfrutan los amantes de la naturaleza de todas las edades.

Lugares y horarios de recogida
Recogemos a todos los viajeros en los diferentes hoteles del centro de San José, el centro de Heredia y el centro de Alajuela. El horario de recogida publicado es para hoteles ubicados en el centro de San José. Si su hotel o punto de recogida se encuentra en Escazú, Santa Ana, Belén Heredia o Alajuela, la hora será diferente y le indicaremos la hora más exacta exactamente 24 horas después de la fecha del tour.

volcano wasn’t visible due to clouds which was sad, but otherwise a fun day. The coffee tour was super cool and the food was great overall. The waterfalls were beautiful, but the facilities included a “sanctuary” that felt more like a zoo. That said, it was still cool to see the animals. Edgar was punctual, friendly, and informative.

If all tours were this good, I’d probably never plan my own vacations again. The “Poás Volcano + Coffee Plantations & La Paz Waterfall Gardens” trip from San José was honestly the best tour I’ve had in years. Our guide Ronny was wonderfully knowledgeable and somehow managed to be informative without ever sounding like a walking textbook. The timing at each stop was spot on: enough time to explore, take photos, and admire the scenery without doing that awkward tourist speed-walk back to the bus. Even breakfast and lunch got a perfectly reasonable amount of time, which felt like a rare and beautiful gift. Well organized, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish — I’d absolutely recommend it.

Road was closed to volcano, so had to pivot, still did the rest of the tour though. Highly recommend. Our guide Edgar, was top notch and made it even more memorable! Would do this tour again.

Very Nice experience, I loved the waterfalls .just to give you the heads up there's lot of walking required in this tour especially at La Paz where there's lot of going up and down the stairs to get to waterfalls

Our trip had to be adjusted slightly since Poas was closed. But the trip was still 100% worth it! Our guide was SO knowledgeable and interactive with the group. Learning how coffee is processed was so eye opening and La Paz Waterfall garden was great. There were A LOT of stairs to get to the falls, but for those who couldn't manage the stairs they had a plan for an alternative tour ready to go. Overall this was a GREAT way to end my trip.
