Viajaremos al oeste de San Pedro de Atacama para conocer la Cordillera de Domeyko, una espectacular formación que coexiste en paralelo a Los Andes. Viajaremos al oeste de San Pedro de Atacama para conocer la Cordillera de Domeyko, una formación espectacular que convive en paralelo a Los Andes. Primero visitaremos el sector de Yerbas Buenas, de gran relevancia histórica por su arte rupestre, ya que posee uno de los grupos de petroglifos más importantes de la región. El recorrido nos transportará a la época de las caravanas indígenas, agregando valor histórico y cultural a la experiencia.
Luego, y al cruzar Matancilla, un sector rico en flora y fauna, encontraremos el Valle del Arco Iris, llamado así por la variedad de tonalidades que se pueden ver en las colinas circundantes: colores tierra, rojizos, marrones, verdes, blancos y amarillos. , que combinado con las sales blancas y el cielo azul, conforman un lugar único. Nata (our guide) and Carlos (our driver) were exceptional hosts. Nata amazed us with her energy, thorough knowledge of the stops on the tour, and her precise timing that kept our group away from the crowds. She slipped seamlessly and tirelessly from Spanish to Portuguese to English. Carlos was a safe driver and an excellent breakfast chef. A great, easy walk through spectacular red, green and white hues with spectacular landforms and a chance to see amazing petroglyphs from some of Chilies original inhabitants. As a professional geologist I enjoyed the technical aspect of the rock formations and my wife loved the colors and land forms. A tour for all that we found much more interesting and fun than some of the more popular tours that cost a lot more.
