Be aware. The Alcazar is CLOSED for refurbishment. Instead they take you to the Medina (entrance 3 euros). The gardens are partially closed. 5 out of the 6 ornamental lakes are drained. Entry to the gardens is free. The company pretend they weren't aware but the building has been fenced off for many weeks and isn't due to reopen this month. Viator also claim not to know. Don't book this trip until the buildings are open.
Thank you so much for this incredible tour! We absolutely loved our tour guide!!! She was extremely knowledgeable and quite funny and we learned so much about the rich history and culture. We so appreciate this Tour.!!!!
Tour was well organized tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. The organization at the beginning was also very efficient.
The entrance controller was an unpresentable. Take out two tickets, one of which was free because you were unemployed. He asked me for the proof and I gave him the jobless uninterrupted period (which I had downloaded unemployed the application a couple of days before) and he tells me that it is not good for him, that he needs the paper when I have to reseal. I tell him that in the application does not come out (I have the one from the Community of Madrid) and he tells me that other people from "my community" if he has given it. In front of him I enter the application and show him the days remaining to seal the next stoppage, he tells me that it does not serve him either. I send my partner to buy the ticket because he had me there apart like a criminal and in the meantime I have downloaded the report of the registration periods and that has earned him. What a fabric, I must have had a very bad day because it was an edge and a nasty. It's one thing to do your job well, which seems normal to me, and another to overzealous. Fatal. The place itself is nice, especially the gardens, but lackluster being the fountains without water.
Can easily do it on your own because the explanation time was about 30 minutes. Better for two group to meet the guide in the same place not in separate places.
Gardens were lovely. The alcazar itself had mosaics which were interesting but the gardens were the best part of the tour.
An interesting tour conducted by our knowledgeable female guide. The gardens are beautiful and definitely the highlight. The tour was well organised and we only had about 12 in the group, nevertheless the audio worked well and we could hear our guide even when at the rear. We only booked the Alcazar and gardens so at the end of the tour we could wander around the gardens at our leisure. For many in the tour, this was just the first part before moving on the the Mosque and the Jewish quarter. Something to bear in mind is if you do the full tour you won't have time to soak up the beautiful surrounds as the tour only has a finite amount of time in the Alcazar.
The tour was at its best discussing the Roman and Moorish origins of the area. The most impressive visual of the tour were the outside gardens.Beautiful gardens. There's very little of any castle to see. Where the tour fell short was in discussing the inquisition. Our tour guide Enrique told us Jews converted to Christianity to "solve their problem" and discussed the inquisition being a response to water thrown out the window to land on a rich person.
Beautiful gardens and an impressive building. Very informative about the history of the people in the region. Sunning views from the towers, but not for the faint hearted! Worth a visit.
be careful my tour was June 3 At 1:00 I arrived at 12:30, waiting for the guide with a blue umbrella. NOBODY SHOWS UP call his number and send text messages! unanswered They responded to me at 1:18 demanding we rise!!! My day trip was destroyed but no refund, horrible experience.
