James Joyce Tour

Our tour with Adam was fabulous. He was very knowledgeable about Joyce and his works. Our conversations with him were comfortable and informative, he was able to answer all of our questions. We felt like we were walking along side James Joyce as we toured Dublin. This was our favorite tour of our vacation and we highly recommend it to our fellow Joyceans and anyone else who wants to experience Dublin through Joyce’s eyes.

James Joyce 101

This tour exceeded expectations on so many levels. We went to areas of significance related to the life and work of Joyce. I have not read Joyce but my husband has and we both enjoyed the tour immensely. Adam was our knowledgeable guide and gave us a history tour as well as a literary experience. He’s interesting, friendly, and obviously knows Dublin and James Joyce. We both heartily recommend this tour for those who want more from their Irish trip. You won’t be disappointed.

Joyce tour is fascinating!

I’ve been a James Joyce fan since I read Dubliners and Ulysses in college. I was expecting a lot from our tour and our guide, Adam Ladd exceeded my expectations! The tour was well paced and we visited many of the places Joyce names as Bloom walks the city on June 16th. At each stop Adam discussed how Joyce interacted with these places in his daily life, the politics of the time and the role, if any, Joyce played in the issues of his day. Additionally, Adam was able to discuss the larger historical happenings in Ireland at every stage of Joyce’s life. He shared wonderful details about Joyce’s incredible friends and professional relationships, as well as details about his wife Nora, and how so much of Joyce’s actual life appeared in his books. Lastly, you don’t have to know a thing about Joyce or Ulysses to enjoy this tour, it is a fascinating look at a great artist and the times in which he lived. The entire experience was just wonderful and I recommend the tour and Adam while heartily.

A wonderful experience

Adam was our tour guide. There were four of us and only one that had any knowledge of James Joyce. Adam did such an amazing job and his knowledge was unending and so very interesting. We all agreed that his tour was one of the highlights of our stay in Ireland.

A great day with Joyce and Adam

Adam is both personable and knowledgeable, a great combination. He also understood what we wanted and tailored his presentation accordingly. Couldn’t have been better! It’s also clear that he would be excellent at any tour he leads

Walking with Joyce

I have been a devotee of Ulysses for decades, and thoroughly enjoyed our 3-hour walking tour with Adam Ladd. Not only did we discuss notable sites in the novel, but it was also a great introduction to the city of Dublin as well.
