Mountainous Sand Castles of Imlil

The mountainous trek to Imlil was an adventure in itself. Cold and snow covered the day we went it left a lasting impression of how isolated this community and those fairly nearby are in comparison to towns closer to main centers. The dirt and sand structures built into the hillsides look like sandcastles that have stood the test of time. We were fortunate to hire a private driver who navigated the winding, narrow roads with expertise and have us ample opportunity to visit in the little hamlets along the way.
